Who agrees that on American Idol it should be the BEST12 out of 24 contestants instead of 6 guys and 6 girls? Why or Why Not?

I mean I have been watching since season 2 and I have never questioned it before until this season - as most of the talent seems to be lacking.

I totaly agree with you. I mean American Idol is suppose to show the best Singers. If there are more women that are better singers then there should be more women that make the top 12 and same goes if there are more guys that are better. I don't think that they will ever do that just for the fact of being then tring to be fair. But it for sure isn't being fair to the ones that don't make it cause they only can have 6 women and 6 guys move on.

I 10000% agree with you!! And my top 12 would be LaKisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle, Jordin Sparks, Sabrina Sloan, Stephanie Edwards, Gina Glocksen, Leslie Hunt (got voted off already. But i liked her more than some of the guys), Chris Sligh, Phil Stacey, Blake Lewis, the justin timberlake wannabe, and Sundance.
There is just wayyyyy more talent amongst the women. The arent even 6 guys i wanna keep seeing every tues & wed.

You are exactly right!!!!!!
It's not really that fair.
Just like on season 1. When they got down to the top 30, they split up into three groups of 10. Then America voted for the top 3 people from each group, and then the judges picked a wild card. That was not fair at all.

Yea that would make a lot more sense. I would rather have all the best talent then an even number of girls and guys, some having much as much talent as someone else who got voted off.

I agree because some years (like this one) you have better girls then guys (or the other way around like some years) i think this year there are a lot of guys who should have gone home before some of the girls who did. my opinion

I totally agree, because most of the guys suck(exact 4 Sundance,Chris & the beepbox guy)! And a lot of girls are better than the boys. Except Haley!

No... I think it's fair being 6 girs and 6 guys. This season it just seems a bit more unfair because the guys suck (except for a few).

This is the first season that I've actually thought they could do away with all the guys...and Antonella...and have a great competition.

I agree with you, but I'm sure they do it the way they do for some reason. I wouldn't too much though, most of the guys will be gone shortly after that protection is over. (I hope so anyways...)

i agree...some girls are way better than some of the guys and they won't get a chance because of the restrictions they put on the sexes.
