Everything seems so hopeless. There is no hope for humanity and there probably isn't any loving God up there to set things right someday. I don't even want to learn to love simple pleasures again, they are empty now. Those days of innocence and carefree life are long gone for me. Now I just want answers. Where are they?

How can I prove to myself that there is a moral law above and beyond the few little things we know about and see? If there isn't one, I have no reason to bother living anymore.

If you do not know what I mean by "Moral Law", please don't answer.

Also, if you rant about atheism-theism, I'm going to report you in order to discourage that stupid behavior.

What if I could give you some knowledge that isn't taught in the churches, but is from the original Bible manuscripts, and what if that information told you why you are here, what happened before you came here, and why you see things today that look hopeless, and why you personally are needed here? Would that help you?
Hi, I'm a 35+ yr. student of the manuscripts;
The churches do not teach what is in those manuscripts for a couple of reasons: some of the churches feel that a lay person is not supposed to know them; Others don't know how to read them.
Send me an email, say "tell me"; I promise you that you will never feel hopeless again for the rest of your life.

p.s. I am non-denominational Christian;
I am not a religious phanatic, and i am
not a jehovah's witness, just to make
that clear.
I'm telling you to email me only because there isn't enough space to write it.
Keep your chin up; I assure you we are far from lost, in fact, things couldn't be better.

No Matter How Many Times The Things We Love Are Destroyed, We Should Always Rebuild. It's Almost Human-Nature To Hope, We Can't Help Not To!!! Even When Our Dreams Are Crushed And Everything Is Taken Away We Still Hope.....And Within That Hope, Lies A Vision Waiting To Become Reality....

The realization of reality can be a kick in the teeth, well, not can be, it is. To come to the realization that this is all there is and there is no reason for the madness, there will be no payback to those who are truly wicked - and I don't mean believer vs non-believer crap - I mean no punishment for people who kill, torture and ruin the lives of innocent people, it's hard to grasp and accept.

Once all that sinks in you will find a true enjoyment of the little things in life that you aren't getting now. You will appreciate every day that you have cause when it's over, it's over. Hopefully you will get there but I must tell you, the realization of reality will always bug you to some extent - if it didn't you aren't alive.

At least that's how it;s gone for me. I also acknowledge that I do not know for a fact that there isn't some sort of existence after this one, I don't see any real evidence to support it so I base my belief that there is none on that lack of evidence, but there may be plains of existence after this one that aren't even close to what believers think they are.

Do you even want help?

I remember feeling like you do when I was 8 until I was 24. What made the difference is me alone with God. That's it! I got serious-- I wanted to kill myself. I wanted a way out. And Jesus was the oppurtunity that I tried to take. And He listened. That was over 20 years ago.

Here's the thing, do you have regrets? Are you really down on yourself? Jesus said something that you might want to see;
Luke 7:47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little."

I was forgiven much. I can tell you that there is a lot of love from God that I can personally feel and live by. It's not real to some people. I guess that I am not 'some people' though.

Sounds like you haven't found anything to live for. I'm sorry that you feel that way. You may not like my response, but I am trying to be sincere and give you some ideas.

I can't prove there is a God, but I can prove that there is a lot that needs to be done in the world. If you are finding things hopeless, might you think about what you can do to make the world a better place and give the world more hope? The world needs a lot of help right now. If you start small you will gradually see that your contribution will change your way of thinking. You are not alone in the world. Instead of looking to yourself, look at the world and start working to make your place in it for the better. You will feel a lot better too, I promise!

Hi! I went throught exactly the same thing. I was pretty much convulsing on the floor wanting to die as I had the realization that life is absolutely pointless. And the truth is, it is pointless if we don't have God. We get to God through His son Jesus, by asking Him into our heart and handing our lives over to Him. He says "I am the way, the truth, and the life." and this is absolutely true. God is the purpose, He created us, and when we get lined up with Him and His word, it all starts to make sense. The first step is giving your life to Jesus, and the rest goes from there. Read the bible. It will actually speak to you, it's alive. The more you line yourself up with God, read His word, and spend time with Him in prayer, the more purpose you'll see in your life. Your life does have a purpose and only God knows what that is. That's why we all have this desire for truth and answers. God put it in us so that we will seek and find Him. Jesus is knocking at the door asking you to let Him in. Open the door and you'll see! He'll never leave you, forsake you, or disappoint you. He loves you with an everlasting love, and He longs for you to know His heart. Ask and you will receive! That's a promise. He has things for you that you can't even imagine! Temporary things and eternal things! After you ask the Lord into your heart and give Him your life, you should find a good bible based, spirit-filled church to help you learn and grow. Praise the Lord! You're in for the adventure of your life!!!!!!!!!

You have the same problem the greeks faced. Moral law is in movement. You can never wholly comprehend it. The moment you recognize it, it has changed. That is the most bare bones way I can explain it right now. What it means to us is that we cannot figure it out. We are finite, limited in understanding. Even if we could comprehend the law, we could never fulfill it. We've tried since the beginning of time and it seems that the more we try to find the truth by our own means, the further we are from it. Woody Allen joked, "eternity is a long time, especially towards the end."

What I'm saying to you is that you will only find peace in humility and in that humility you will find the only hope, that is Jesus Christ, God loved you so much that he fulfilled the law so you could enter in to the kingdom. you do have hope

You can find morals in everything. However in the end, morals are just made up in our minds. We set thing as good or evil, when in fact its a subjective term... and there never is a universal good or evil. Then from that, we come up with these morals.

I say, choose your own morals that you feel are right. If you don't feel happy with yourself because of something you do, then don't do it.

I am, agnostic. I don't believe there is enough information to prove, or disprove "god."

My parents are Christians, and one day my mother was really sad. She was saying how can god just let this stuff happen?

Well I love my mother, and hated to see her like this. I told her something that I read from a book, and it helped her. It went something like this:

As a parent would you let your child ride roller skates?
If so why, your child could fall and hurt themselves.

and if not, why not? Are you going to protect your child and protect them there whole lives?

No, what happens is:
You give your child instructions, and hope they listen. You tell your children to be careful, wear a helmet, take it slow.

You can't jump in and protect them from everything, you just cant, so you give them sound instructions so you hope they will follow it

Perhaps "God" is doing the same with his children?

You sound very depressed. I think you should seek some professional spiritual counseling, and soon. Don't give up hope, there is always hope, as long as you're living it is for a reason. It is up to you to find that reason, but you can't if you give up hope. Hang in there, and get some help.

You cant prove nothing you just got to have faith. And that is the hardest part. By the way depression can be a chemical imbalance you may want to consult a professional or not its up to you.
