A couple of years ago I tried a spirit sold as an aperitif in Portugal. It had quite a herby, seed-like, medicinal flavour, and the label on the bottle said something along the lines of its being a traditional Portuguese drink. I think it was a light gold colour. I've been trying to track it down but I can't remember what it's called; does anyone know what it might be? (Please note this is not medronho, of which I have a couple of bottles at home).

I fell in love with a guy, many years ago.It was the same for both of us, for the first time in our thirties. With bad timing we never ended up together. He was with someone, and took too long to make a decision, by which time, I was involved elsewhere.Although living in hundreds of miles apart now we still meet up every so often. Near the water bowl that I usually leave out for the birds to bathe and drink in, I found about 15 little clumps of grass left by the birds. I know it might be silly to ask why, but I thought it was really strange that they did that.

The squirrels (and sometimes a stray cat or two) also drink from the same bowl, and I also throw bread out for the birds in the winter.
