So I've never really dealt with an attourney before and I was wondering how the laws are set up as far as confidentiality.

From my understanding, isn't there a rule that an attourney must keep all his communication with his client (or soon to be client) completely confidential?

Like for example (and no I'm not in this situation, I'm just using it as an example), say someone actually murdered someone, but is hiring or consulting with an attorney in their defense. Are they able to freely tell the attorney the whole story, and even if they did do it, the attorney can choose to defend them or not, but either way, the attorney is obligated by law to keep all communication between that person secret?

If so what is that called?

Ok, so me and my bestfriend have been friends for 12 years. Lately (the past two years) I feel like im competing against her! I know shes my best friend and i should be completely comfortable around her but thats just the way it is. She always has to shop at the same stores as me, get the same clothes, the otherday she even got her hair cut the same as mine!! I love her like a sister but at the same time I cant stand her! Shes also tries VERY hard to impress the "popular" girls at my school. Shes trying to be somthing shes not and everyone who really knows her can see right through that. my coworker is driving me crazy. She is 69 years old with no sign of ever retiring. She takes up a lot of my time (and patience) with her idle chatter every day.
