I currently have a similar question, but I am so worried. My 16 week old male Cavachon (Bichon/Cavilier mix) was neutered yesterday. Upon the first incesion his heart stopped for just under 2 minutes. They did CPR and brought him back, then proceeded to do the operation. This was 24 hours ago. He had a robotic yip for about 12 hours, did not close his mouth, his eyes did not track well, and his tounge just hung down. Then he started whimpering instead of the robotic yip. His mouth is shut prettty tight now. and he has wagged his tail, and moved his paws somewhat. The vet called this morning and said they were going to the "people hospital" to get some medication to bring down swelling in the brain. They don't seem sure if he has brain damage or swelling of the brain. . Has anyone had a similar story or any idea if this is brain damage or swelling and do we have any hope?? The Vet is sure this was a reaction to the anesthesia

I know the prices have really come down on these awesome devices, but sometimes I think it's at the cost of the quality. I used to be an Epson girl, but the last one I had was an Epson all in one and it was hands down the worst printer i have ever owned. It would actually LEAK INK! Anyway, I'm looking for something under $100 if possible, no more than $150. TIA!

I have a LaCie external storage drive. When I save a file to that drive, it gives it an incorrect "Date Modified". If I save it to my laptop hard drive, the file gets the correct "Date Modified".

Anyone know what the solution is?

I met this guy in Europe and I don't know anything about him. I do email him every once in a while but never asked him anything personal, just things about his country, jobs there, location, ect because I will be working there soon.

It's been months since I've met him and have exchanged at least 20 emails in the past 8 months and I don't know anything about his life... so finally I got the guts and I emailed him last and told him a little about myself and I asked him to write me back with a little about himself...

Is this stupid? He hasn't replied yet. Did I dig in a little too much?

Most of the Atheists who post here (the non-idiotic ones, that is) seem to fall into the category of scientific atheists like Richard Dawkins. They start from the premise that Truth can only be ascribed to propositions that are empirical, falsifiable and logically coherent. Since religious claims do not have those properties they cannot be described as True.

So far so good, but many valuable things cannot be described as true under that definition, Shakespeare comes to mind. I think most atheists would hesitate to describe this cultural artifact as ridiculous.
If we accord a special status Shakespeare then we can accord a special status to the Bible. An atheist who has not read the Bible is badly educated and deprived of some very great literature. The story of Job and the Lamentations of Jeremiah the Prophet are some of the greatest writing the world has ever produced.

So, how many of you, believer or not, find this an acceptable compromise between the two camps?

I think that partisanship is one of America's biggest threats. A divided house cannot stand. I know I personally have been guilty of taking the wrong course of action in improving this situation. I'd like to improve my own actions and I believe others do too.

I'm really interested in a solution that can smash harmful negative labeling and intellectual diminishment in discussion of important issues. I'd love to see the bar of civility being raised, not dropped.

Here's my ideas:

1. You can't always control the actions of others, but you can always control yourself. Change your mindset. Try to eliminate labels from your brain. Forget party affiliation and just look at raw ideas.

2. Look at the intent. Most people are just doing what they believe is right. When we cast negative labels on a group, we tend to forget that.

3. End ad hominem and unproductive generalisations. They accomplish nothing. Discourage them gently in others.

Thoughts? Answers? Ideas?

There's a 'nazi-type' food group trying to ban Girl Scouts from selling Cookies . Now before you laugh yourself right outta your chair, I'll tell ya, it's TRUE . The President of that group was on the O'Reilly Factor last night(did CNN cover the story as well, or have they either hidden the agenda, or are they out-right promoting it) and she thinks that it's wrong for kids to sell cookies because they may be fattening(and they are) . Where is our FREEDOM on that issue ? I saw some answers on a similar type question earlier. . . and some people ran to the 'cost of healthcare' as their justification for their view . OK. . . . Then what about Pop Tarts, Cheetos, Pizza, Doritos, Cheese(I understand California Wine Drinkers LOVE a little cheese with their whine !! ) . This is such insanity, I'll just let you answer .

Are we gonna let them push their agenda on us, or would you like to be TOLD what you can and cannot eat ?

Yes, I'm bringing this up agian, but for a good reason. Education.
After all knowedge is power!!!

ANYONE who says "under powering a sub will destroy it" is holding on to a myth.

If I turn my volume down, I'm actually "underpowering" my subs!!! Low volume, low power!! Understand!!!!

Prove me wrong!!!!

People are confusing "clipping" with "underpowering". THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!!! Clipping and over powering is what hurt subs.

Clipping is when someone tries to over compensate a low powered amp by increasing the sensitivity level (adjust the gain to a lower voltage) to get more power out of it. This is one way to damage a subwoofer. Over powering is another.

The gain control is a device used to "match" the volts RMS coming from the source.
