There's a 'nazi-type' food group trying to ban Girl Scouts from selling Cookies . Now before you laugh yourself right outta your chair, I'll tell ya, it's TRUE . The President of that group was on the O'Reilly Factor last night(did CNN cover the story as well, or have they either hidden the agenda, or are they out-right promoting it) and she thinks that it's wrong for kids to sell cookies because they may be fattening(and they are) . Where is our FREEDOM on that issue ? I saw some answers on a similar type question earlier. . . and some people ran to the 'cost of healthcare' as their justification for their view . OK. . . . Then what about Pop Tarts, Cheetos, Pizza, Doritos, Cheese(I understand California Wine Drinkers LOVE a little cheese with their whine !! ) . This is such insanity, I'll just let you answer .

Are we gonna let them push their agenda on us, or would you like to be TOLD what you can and cannot eat ?

The only way you'll get my Pringles is to pry them from my cold, dead hands. :)

Not everything that is immoral, or unhealthy, should be illegal.

Last I checked, this is America. I don't think food should be banned at all. Should trans fats carry a warning? I guess, though I think that people should pull their heads out of their TVs and read a book or some news stories rather than trusting Mommy Government to do it for them. If you don't like a food, think it's bad for you, or don't like the way it's produced (such as foie gras) DON'T BUY OR EAT IT! That's how it works in a free market. if no one buys products with trans fats, people will stop making them. Period.
If Girl Scout cookies are banned, send me a message. I will hook you up with your cookie fix, and for a veeeeery reasonable price....

Nice, freedom to an extent. Is that not now our country's theme?

Health care? Health care is no justification to remove 'junk food' from the hands of anyone. Next they'll be taking away video games because 'they promote aggression, etc' and skateboards because 'they could injure people'. Infact let's do away with cars because a whole bunch of people are killed and injured in accidents every year. But don't stop there! Let's take away cigarettes and let's ban alcohol again, because those are also ruinious to your health. Infact, let's keep everyone a damn blasted metal box so they can't ever get hurt!

Well as purchaser of 50 boxes of Girl Scout cookies, I'd like to smack that lady up side the head. Sadly, it is getting to the point that the "rights" we once had are going further and further away. And even perhaps worse is that under the label of for "your on good" people are letting it occur. Every 12 seconds someone dies in a car crash, but people who eat cookies are a danger to themselves?

O reilly and the president of the group are just trying to get attention. I can see why they would ban girl scout cookies because it is dangerous selling door to door but if it is a fattening issue that is really stupid.

I seen the story on Fox that lady was insane...I agree the government has no right to tell me what i can or cant eat.

I made a comment earlier about high insurance costs, but that was because i meant to say it's the insurance companies probably pushing for these food bans.

I think *trans fats* should be banned and that all manufacturers should find a way to make their products without them, but yeah, we should get to choose what we eat. A treat is nice, sometimes! I do think that a nutrition label should be the regulation everywhere so we know *what* we are eating (knowledge should be part of that freedom of choice). People who want to eat junk all the time will find a way to do so regardless.

wow.
just because you a box or two of cookies does not mean you have to eat the whole box in one sitting!
ugh- butter, ice cream, bread, pasta, etc are all fattening, what a moron!
People can choose what they eat and choose if they exercise or not and also what they feed their children.
If people don't know what makes you fat, that's their problem.

I thought that stuff was already banned. I've been hiding loads of it in my basement in case of a surprise home visit. I thought this was the land of the free??? Free what?

That's crazy! If people are too lazy to do the research on nutrition and then eat what they want, then it's their own fault if they suffer the consequences.

That's as stupid as people who eat McDonalds three times a day and then want to sue them when they get heart disease. Speaking of which, did you seee that Prince Charles wants to outlaw McDonald's to help people with their diet? Where is personal responsibility?
