Hiya, i am teaching students english at my home and i decided to try and incoporate some UK culture (if you can call it culture,,,sigh) into my lessons, for example am using a BIG BEN theme while am teaching them to tell the time in English, I come from scotland so naturally i want to add nessie to my lessons for fun, or haggis even and even some irish culture like shamrocks, but i am out of ideas, i will teach students basic English in a fun way with lots of games, and i want to teach them time,body parts,actions,ordering food, weather,days of the week etc,,,,my students are japanese and very young you see, so does anyone have any good ideas to spice up my lessons? I am also teaching them money (UK currency ) too. I have 2 kids of my own and its really hard to take the time to THINK over my lessons. thanks for any help.

have you ever told straight into a person's face that they're lying, know that they're lying but yet the person simply refuses to admit they're lying? I have with a friend of mine who claimed he went to malaysia with family and he has a reputation for being a liar. I chatted with his sis and she said the family didn't even go to malaysia. then i chatted with him much later, asking him if he did go to malaysia, he still insisted on it and now even claimed to have gone there alone. Oh my God! Don't you find such people to be terribly, pathetically amusing??! Have you ever met such ppl like this? If so, share with me !!

I often see perfectly good answers get thumbs down in the math forum. This floors me because contrary to other topics, math is usually not a matter of opinion. For example whenever someone asks whether zero is odd or even, or whether 0.999... = 1, the correct answers get almost as many thumbs down a the wrong answers.

I, for one, never thumb-down an answer unless I know it to be factually wrong.

(By the way, if you think the parity of zero or the fact that 0.999... = 1 are matters of opinion, you need to look up a few serious math sites.)

Oh well... consider this a rant well worth the 5 points.

Hi! I heard that Pluto is no longer considered a planet? If so, at the current time, which planets now, and if there are additions, revolve around the sun. The few sites I have browsed aren't updated. Either agree or disagree with what I heard but I would gladly like to hear or read the details that I missed. Thanks.
