I got a new laptop last week and it comes with Windows Vista. Alot of my old software is not compatible, is possible to get Windows XP on the laptop too? If so can I download it from somewhere or would I have to buy it?

Look would you seriously stop worrying about it!!! The world is living in the 21st century i guarantee you in less then 6 months from now Microsoft will come up with some kind of service pack update that will make sure all programs and software are compatible as usual! not to mention all programs and software in general get very old very quickly so whatever you might be interested in installing those companies will have to come up with latest versions to keep up with vista whether they like it or not!

see if you can replace the laptop to get one with windows xp. Otherwise you will have to purchase cd of windows xp , then format the computer and then install xp. Alternatively you can format the computer and install xp first on one partition and then vista on the other partition to get a dual booting computer

You can buy it from different computer stores like currystore or pc world. I would rather buy it in store as i have the cd of the original software.

you would have to buy it, however there is a CHANCE..you can find it at a local swap meet or ask a tech how to get it off of a dead computer and save a little dough..i agree with you...vista is a piece of junk...good luck.
