in the uk - if work pays the wrong amount of salary what do i have to do?

do i have to return the amount they paid extra that i shoiuldnt have received? or as they made the error can i keep it?

Yes, the law considers this an honest mistake, which the company can rectify by deducting that amount from your next cheque, or by asking you to return it.

English common law does not allow you to profit from a mistake.

If they ask for it back then you will have to pay it.
