have you ever told straight into a person's face that they're lying, know that they're lying but yet the person simply refuses to admit they're lying? I have with a friend of mine who claimed he went to malaysia with family and he has a reputation for being a liar. I chatted with his sis and she said the family didn't even go to malaysia. then i chatted with him much later, asking him if he did go to malaysia, he still insisted on it and now even claimed to have gone there alone. Oh my God! Don't you find such people to be terribly, pathetically amusing??! Have you ever met such ppl like this? If so, share with me !!

actually he may BELIEVE it himself. My own father has told some pretty out there stories in my life (think of the movie "Big Fish") One day, I was talking to my Aunt (his own SISTER) and most of the things he has told me about are complete lies. You can tell though that he actually believes the stories he tells to be true. He has told them so many times that he has convinced himself !!! It usually starts off because the person wants to impress someone, fit in with a group of people, or just make themselves seem more interesting in general. Some of them (I think my father may be one) probably have some sort of mental disorder. If you wish to remain friends with this person, just listen to the stories and if it's one you've heard before..tell it back to him !! (that works wonders with my dad, stops him in his tracks for a while) I unfortunately can't just stop being friends with my dad. Even if you know he is telling a lie, what does it really hurt ?
My father has told some pretty big whoppers, but as long as it doesn't tarnish someone else, I just go home and laugh about it with my husband .... we've tried talking to him and telling him we know that they are lies, but he only gets defensive like your friend and tells us we're nuts. Go figure !!

Yes. Some people are pathetic. But you see my little padwan, there is a big reason for it. Apparently this friend wants to impress you somehow. This friend is having a very difficult time in trying to impress you. So he (she) does what he (she) watches in the TV every day. Lying as politicians do, lying as the anchorman in every broadcasted news network, and as the preacher of many communities. Malaysia is not such a bad place to pick. He (She) might have chosen Kiev, Ukraine or maybe St. Pedro Macory's in Dominican Republic. Give your friend a chance. Some people like so much their friends, they try everything to keep them for ever.

I know someone like that too. He lies ALL THE TIME! Even if me and a whole group of friends say he is lying, he never admits.
It is soooo annoying.
The last lie he told us is that he has his own MMORPG... and right now he's making a game that is much better than the latest Need for Speed.
His lies are so stupid...you can see immediately that its a lie.
He makes me angry...

And if I tell that hes lying, he says Im lying that hes lying...

Yes! Tell him he should be a writer! He is full of fantasy and drama. So you know that when he talks to you, you don't necessarily believe his stories are true. Maybe he thinks that people won't like him unless he makes himself more exciting. You can still be nice though.

When you both grow up, make sure you don't ever buy a car from him!! Huh?
