Is it possible to downgrade my paypal account from "Business" back to "Premier" status?

How do I change it back so that I can accept payments in my name not my trading name ?

Close your account with paypal and then open a new one.

I doubt it. I know you can't gop back from premier to the one below it. It's just not in Paypals interest to let you do so.
