I need help on this problem and it would be appreciated if anyone can tell me how to figure it out. There are three springs attached together in a series, with the first one attached to a wall. There is a force of 23.4 pounds pulling on the last spring. Spring 1, the one against the wall, has k1 = 20lb/in, the one in the middle, spring 2, has k2 = 32 lb/in, and spring 3, the one with the force pulling, has k3 = 12 lb/in. What is the extension of the entire arrangement of the spring system? What is the effective spring rate for the 3 springs. The answer is 3.851 inches for the extension, and 6.076 for the effective spring rate. I just don't know how to solve this.

on a 3yr olds face. The father went hysterical and accused my dog of attacking his child. I vehemently denied that he had been attacked and apologised for the scractch. He then took his foot back and threatened to kick my dog. I said I would call the police as this WOULD be an attack and then he threatened to hit me (I had sworn at him by this point!). My pup was only saying hello and I was very sorry fory the accidental scratch but this reaction was full on and insane overreaction. Is this not further proof that there should be places to take our dogs without young children and reactive (psycho) parents?

I am in 8th grade right now but I am just curious. I will obviously be a freshman next year and will be attending more formal dances where you have to wear a dress. The thing is... WHERE DO I BUY ONE??????? I normally shop at American Eagle and other places like that but they obviously don't have anything suitable for a dance like that!!! Where should I go??? I am a tenth grader(in louisiana, where the average ACT score for seniors is a 19) I made a 19 one it, im horrified. I took the PLAN test and it said I would make between a 23-27 so my fingers are still corssed. By the way, I always do well on my state tests so im expecting an increase, im shooting for a 25, is that possible for me? And remeber, this is louisiana

I have a newer Chevy Silverado (2004) - anyone know why it is impossible to lift the windshield wipers more than like 6 inches off the windshield? My 1999 allowed me to pull them way back to clean and to avoid freezing. I tried to pull back on my current ones - but I'm afraid I'm going to break them. Anyone else have similar experience or know of a solution? I see nothing mentioned in the manual and hope they haven't changed things with the newer model.
