Mikey Mike's response was obviously from a man. I had to have a D & C 2 years ago following a miscarriage---it is NOT an abortion.
I had to have the D & C because I couldnt stop bleeding...the D & C was not painful in anyway physically, but it was an awful experience.

D = dilation
C = Currettage

Basically, it's the dilation of the cervix to the uterus, and the scraping of the utering lining (the currettage part) to remove the contents of the uterus, or abnormal endometrial growth. It can be a form of early abortion or to remove the contents of an incomplete miscarriage.

A D & C is cleaning of the uterus so periods or debris can be removed and normal shedding for the period starts. To me it was a life lifter and you can go in for many..Some girls can go through it and be jiffy and others have trouble with anesthetic..You will feel better
