I am a tenth grader(in louisiana, where the average ACT score for seniors is a 19) I made a 19 one it, im horrified. I took the PLAN test and it said I would make between a 23-27 so my fingers are still corssed. By the way, I always do well on my state tests so im expecting an increase, im shooting for a 25, is that possible for me? And remeber, this is louisiana

It was my first time takeing it. I wasen't used to timed test so on the reading I sort of half read and ended up just marking answers on some parts. I had a 22 in English, a 20 in science, and a 17 in both reading and math

It depends alot upon the individual. I got a 28 in the 11th grade, then a 32 in the 12th. My sister took it three times and her score went down each time. A big factor since you're still in the 10th grade will be classes like Chemistry, Physics and Pre-Cal that you haven't covered yet. If you take the test after even just a brief introduction to those classes, you'll see a good improvement over your previous scores. My science score jumped like 7 points because I hadn't taken any Chemistry before my first test. You'll also probably get better at time management with each test.

Students in ever increasing numbers are retaking the ACT Assessment. They do so because of a desire to raise their scores to meet the requirements of a certain scholarship agency, to meet college entrance requirements, or for their own personal satisfaction. However, it is rare when the score improves significantly. The average score increase is approximately 0.8.
I took it twice, and mine actually went down a point from a 26 to a 25
it doesnt hurt to retake it though. buy a prep book and sign up for another ACT test.
good luck :)
