Last Saturday, I took my dog (10 lb Pomeranian) with me to go snowshoeing. We ended up waiting for an hour with all our warm clothes on for my friend to show up. Finally, we had to walk down to the trail, which is about a 1/3 of a mile.
On the way there, my dog kicked off one of his foot covers--doggie boots--since I couldn't put it on without a hassle, I just took them all off. But once we got to the trail, I became concerned that his feet my get icy from being in the boots then in the snow. So I decided to go home. I carried him part of the way, then put his boots on for the rest. We immediately went home and I kept him inside for the rest of the day.
But it seems that, since then, he has been obsessively licking his paws. He did this once before to one paw when he did something to irritate his dew claw. The pads of his feet look normal, no swelling or cracks.
And being the paranoid pet owner that I am, I'm worried that he got frostbite. How can I tell what's up?

I take a neighbours daughter to meet the school bus each morning as a favour. When the little girl came to me this morning (she's 7 by the way), she was quite upset as her parents had a big argument which resulted in a window getting smashed. She told me her mum then took it out on her, at this point the bus arrived and she couldn't elaborate any further. Her mum and dad argue and don't have a good relationship, although to my knowledge it hasn't been violent before.

I am at a loss over what to do. Shall I tell her mum how upset she was ? I don't want to interfere because no good will come of it, but would never forgive myself if the violence escalated.

I am on good terms with the girls grandmother, shall I confide in her instead?

So i found I out I am pregnant last Tuesday. My hubby and I couldnt be more excited! I went to the Doctor last wednesday and she only talked to me about pregnancy? Then she came me a prescript to have some blood work done and a urine test. I did all of that and it was 100% good! (i had a feeling it would say that since i felt very different) Anyways now i have to make a ob/gyn appt. But some places are saying i cant make an appt till i am "so and so" far along. But i dont know how far along i am lol! I had a regular period in December. I had a reg period in Jan on the 4th to be exact. and on Jan 30th i found out i was pregnant. Can anyone tell me how far along they think i am. or if i should just say screw it and make an appt b/c that sound weird to me?

Everything war opponents say about Iraq appears to apply there too. It's a civil war, and we shouldn't get stuck in the middle. We can't stop these ancient hatreds. It does not affect US security (this is more demonstrably true of Darfur - Iran is not next door).

Wouldn't every death - no matter who caused it - then be the US's fault, as some claim in Iraq? (Yes, one could say that the US "caused" the problems in Iraq, but the overall deaths are down from the days of Saddam's mass executions. Do we get the credit, then?)

Would every company that supplies resources for the Darfur effort be accused of "profiteering?"

Finally, should those who say we should do something there agree to enlist themselves, or keep quiet?

I'm just trying to figure out where those who oppose the mission in Iraq would ever send US troops on a "humanitarian" mission.

i have a 5 month old pitpull. I read books of puppys and they say keep them on puppy food for 1 year. My vet said i can start her on adult food when she is 5 months old. I dunno who is right? I have been feeding her puppy dry food and mixing adult wet food in it. But i was just wondering should i take her off the puppy food now or should i start buying wet puppy food? or is my mixing puppy and adult food good or bad?

I have benn montoring my cervical mucus for the last week or so and yesterday when i checked it was a whitish color and very stretchy?? but my cervix still feels very low? this is the week i am supposed to ovulate. but im not sure if i am now or what? because it's not clear and my cervix is low. and i cant check it now because me and my fiance had sex early this morning and it would be too hard to check the mucus. my cervix is still low today though???
