She went to the ER and she said that they catheterized her and took a pregnancy test and determined she had a miscarriage..but she doesn't know anything else other than she was like 3-4 weeks pregnant. My question is...how did the doctors tell that it was a miscarriage? Do they test tissue? Is the pregnancy hormone still in your body after you miscarry? And what happens with the embryo? Does your body break it down and expel it? Or do you have to have a D&C?

My five year-old gets aggressive when she plays with other kids. She has gotten into trouble at school a lot in kindergarten and when she went to daycare. She is very hyper and is being tested for disabilities but she is smart as a tack. I don't know what to do about her aggressive behavior. I have tried to help her. Has anyone experienced this with their child and/or children? Any suggestions?

When I got my kitten spayed, she had a reaction to the anestesia. She has come a long way, but is not 100% back to what she was. She still has a hard time running, she cannot jump, and when she gets excited or nervous, she has a hard time controlling her head movements. The best way to describe it is that she looks like one of those bobble head dolls. The vet suggested I give her a half vitamin B complex with 50mg of thiamin everyday. He said this should help with her brain development. Has anyone heard of this before? Also, she just stopped eating dry food last week. She used to eat it fine, and now not at all. I waited a couple of days, but she was too stubborn for me. I broke down and now am feeding her canned food twice a day. The vet put her on a vitamin supplement, and I am mixing some dry in, but she really is not eating that much of the dry. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks!! :)

I got curious so I will ask and see what comes back.
My wife has developed a problem with alchohol (ie daily, always).
Rather than wait for NEGATIVE events to intervene (health, law) how should we get help? IMO, noone I called seems to care until its too late.
Also, is health insurance useful to offset cost and is there a way to protect her from a likely job loss if we went forward?

Okay. I have a 5 year old son and I got divorced about 8 months ago from a 6 year marriage. My son just had a party for his birthday and my ex,his dad, didn't even bother to call him for his birthday and he has told me that he didn't want to know anything about us. My son asked me if his daddy was going to be at the party, and I told him no and that we wouldn't see daddy anymore (his choice). Then he tells me "Mommy, but I need a daddy." he was sobbing. I of course tried to stay strong and explain that Mommy is a mommy and daddy for him now and I will provide everything to him and etc. But inside I'm dying at this point and am close to a break down. I have a new friend, which is a male, and nothing else. Well, he brings my son a gift for his birthday and my son asked me if he was going to be his new daddy and I explained that he was just mommy's friend. What can I do? How can I prevent him from feeling pain? I grew up w/o a dad and it was hard. I don't want this to affect him.
