This sounds like it may be angina, but that will be made more or less likely by other factors like your age, family history, smoking history etc. It would be advisable to see your doctor and discuss this. Please by aware that people like Denise B who posted another answer (who sounds rather bitter about doctors) will always get a diagnosis if they visit enough doctors even if their is actually nothing wrong with them! Most good doctors would recognise your symptoms as being suspicious of angina and I'm sure wouldn't miss the diagnosis.

Tell your daughter not to touch/shake the tooth that's in pain. A warm saline solution (water with salt). Use it as a gargle. If pain still can't be relieved, use hot compress (hot water) or cold compress (ice). If the pain ends, go to a dentist and have the tooth extracted. Always remind your daughter to brush her teeth from now on. Her experience today is a good way of encouraging her (just a slight threat). Prevention is better than cure.

could be variant angina (2-3% of cases of angina are of this type but many doctors are crap at diagnosing it becaus eit happens whenyou are resting)- get a treadmill test done . Do you also get numbness and tingling down your left arm if you get angry? (role of adrenaline researched in the 1980's)
If the answer is yes then there is a strong possibility, if not could be anything. If it wakes you in the night that is the clincher. . Treatment is calcium channel blockers and statins; after a couple of months you would fell fine.

This could be a heart problem, you need to check with the doctor. If you also have some dull ache in your left arm as well, then you really need to make an appointment as soon as possible. Good luck!

You should definately see an MD to rule out heart trouble. If that turns out fine, see a chiropractor that will spend some time, find the problem, and give you a quality adjustment.

It could be your heart. I read about jaw pain in a magazine recently being related to a heart attack warning. You need to see your Dr. as soon as possible if not sooner.~~~~~~~Jill

I'd go see a doctor about that. That doesn't sound too good. Maybe some kind of infection or something.

Sounds like the ticker is playing up - get medical attention urgently - even if they find nothing wrong, you've lost nothing!
