I have sole custody of my two children The divorcce took place in Michigan where my ex still resides, I have moved myself and the children to Texas and we have lived here for close to 3 years. He has recently been ordered to pay child support and Is unhappy about this, so now he's filed a motion to modify custody, giving it to him. He has not shown any intrest in the kids until this point. I am frazzled and scared to lose my babies, though rationally I know his case is not strong and I have a good lawyer starting work here in Texas, I am just unsure about if we have jurisdiction here in Texas or does Michigan retain it?

i bought one of these clip on lights that you can use for over your computer, or where ever , and it said no more than a 60 watt bulb...which it was. i haved used for it fos a couple of weeks and all of a sudden tonite the bulb just blew right out.it just threw the bulb out, the base of the bulb is stillt here.so i unplugged it what do you think happenend?

Oh my gosh!!! I mean, i know how 2 hip hop dance but dont know what would and wouldnt be classified as hip hop moves!!! I m goin 2 an audition 2morrow for a dance scholarship, and need to practice NOW! But everything I look up is either not free (of course) or not what Im looking 4! Okay, so it really doesn't bother me or anything, but why am I so differant form everyone? Even when I think I am being normal, people think I am odd/peculiar/weird. A lot of people love me for it (rather than in spite of it), but I am just curious about WHY I am that way? I don't even know WHAT characteristics make me differant. People just say I am differant/weird/peculiar.

I have thought maybe it has something to do with the paranormal? But I don't exhibit the most tell-tale signs of being a vampire or anything (real vamps, not like the undead or something like that). In fact, I am almost the anti-psyvamp (I prefer to be submissive over the dominating one, for example).

But it is confusing, because I had a girl refuse to date me because I "strive on being differant", and I thought I was really being normal around her...

Also, for those who DO beleive in the paranormal stuff like vampires, is there perhaps something else along those lines that I might be?

is there somewhere in the law that if you get off from work in a certain time and have to return before 12 hours that your first hour should be time and a half? I close my store and have to open the next morning always returning before 12 hours and they pay me regular pay. is this legal?

My daughter-in-law is not the brightest person, and it has shown even more since my grandson was born. He is 2 months from being 3 years old, and yet he is still fitting in 12 month old clothes. He has not been trained to feed himself, or had any potty training started, and he has a school that picks him up twice a week for speech therapy (on a doctor's order). My son abandoned him and my daughter-in-law in October. Because she couldn't care for the child alone, and had nowhere to go, we moved them in with us. In 3 weeks, he put on 7 pounds, was improving on his speech, and was feeding himself. After 3 weeks went by, she stole some items from us, lied to us about where she was going, and took off to meet a man that she met on the internet, who is a convicted felon, with the baby. Her mother wants us to swear out a warrant and take the child. Do we do this? And what do we tell our grandson when he gets older and asks us about this?

In helping a young struggling American file income taxes,of $40,000 income, 1/4 was taken from his paycheck ($5500 Federal, $2535 Social Security Tax, $600 in Medicare tax, $1170 in State Income Tax). After all the other "dues" and healthcare insurance were deducted from the income, what was left was barely above $25,000. Rent, car payment, utilities, car insurance, license fees, school fees, telephone, and other "necessities" left the taxpayer with no money to buy clothes, or put aside for the future. What was really appalling was that when we added up all the municipal, state, federal, excise and other taxes that were paid in addition to the taxes withheld from the paycheck, (utility tax, phone taxes, sales taxes, etc) more than 50% of the total pay was paid out in taxes. What services has our local, state, and federal governments provided to this taxpayer to earn that money? How can he/she live the American dream? Doesn't qualify for assistance. Where's the better life?
