You make the decision that you like yourself as you are. Each day, look at your reflection in the mirror and tell yourself that you are fine the way you are. No changes needed, not even make up, I am fine exactly as I am. It wouldn't hurt to remind yourself that all of the advertisements are simply a means to get your money out of your pocket and into theirs. I remember the old Brilcream commercials for men. How using their hair cream would make the girls want to run their fingers through your hair. It wasn't true, it was a sales gimmick. Lass, you are just fine as you are. Enjoy being you, because you are unique and needed by the rest of the world just as you are.

You need to find value in yourself not based on outward appearances. You probably strive not to judge others on how they look, but you still judge yourself that way...why? If you see someone who maybe isn't all that attractive or who is overweight, you probably don't say "she is a bad person and I hate them" but you see minor imperfection in yourself and you think things like this...shouldn't you show yourself at least as much kindness as you would a stranger?

Who are the people you most admire? Who are the people you think have done the most for society? Were they all beautiful and physically perfect? What we value about ourselves and others shouldn't be outward beauty...that is only temporary anyway.

Take care of yourself. Using makeup, experimenting with your hair, taking bubble baths, excercising, and other small things like that can change the way you view yourself. Look in the mirror and start recognizing your most positive traits. It might take some time, but you'll start to feel like a better person.

Try an antihistamine. It can take the edge off those jittery "I don't know what to do with myself" feelings.
