I mean as far as cleanliness, not eating your food, not drinking your beer, etc. Most of my roommmates have been men, so I don't know.

Overall, I think it evens out. It really depends on the specific people though. I'm a guy and I had two girl roommates for about 8 months. One was very clean, the other wasn't too clean. She would leave dishes in the sink for a long time and her hair would get all over everything. I washed my laundry separately but would still find her hair in my underwear sometimes. haha. Plus, anytime the two of them got into fights, each one of them would come to me and complain about the other. Lots of drama.... I've had about 10 guy roommates over the years, and honestly, overall, I would prefer having a guy roommate. Mainly cause they're not as dramatic usually.

Bad idea for you to have a female roommate. The chances you will get into a relationship with someone wrong for you is very high. This is very risky and not worth it. Stick to guy room mates and do not live with a woman until you are very sure she is right for you.

I've had male roomates who couldn't keep boundaries, and one really horrible experience with a female roomate (also my step sister) who stole my stuff, ate my food, and wore my clothes. Hovever, my last female roomate became my best friend.
I don't think it's gender based, it differs from person to person.
I would recommend spending a few bucks and going through a roomate matching service if you are picky - it worked for me.

ive had both male and female roomies. the females were good for all the reasons you said, but the downside of the female roomies is that they interfere more in your personal life, they often have groups of girlfriends over who are loud and squealy, and they are often mad at you for no apparent reason. plus, their boyfriend might be over all the time. and he will drink your beer, eat your food, and lay on your sofa.

if i had to choose again tho, i would definitely go with female, cuz they smell better, and usually are more dependable with paying their share of the bills.

yeah women are better roommates than men. but in your case you have no choice because your a man you can find a dormitory whos room is mixed with boys and girls.

If you can handle a woman's temperment then I would say a woman, if you dont' want to deal with the emotional issues (because there will be some) then I won't recommend it.

Women are disgusting. They dont know how to clean up their makeup off the damn sink, they leave cotton balls on the floor when whey clean off their nail polish, they constantly putting things in places where you cant find them such as the phone, or the utensils, when they get ready to go out, they throw everything EVERYWHERE and then they come home too drunk to clean up. Id rather live with men, at least we could watch football in a clean livingroom...lol
