Before more answers come to my original question, I have 1) already checked into the legalities and I am allowed to import a pet bird (not going to US or Australia) and 2) I know of someone who just brought 2 cockatiels on an overseas flight and they were fine. I work as what we in Denmark call hjemmehjælper - I drive around to the elders and the weak in my ton and help them bathe, dress, clean their house, do the laundry, grocery shopping, and so on - all the practical things they can't do themselves. I love my job, but what do you think about it? Is it just a pretty word for a maid, or is it meaningfull, in your opinion? Just curious - not gonna change my line of work either way :-)

I'm married and one of my ex's recently got married. We haven't emailed each other in a long time (a few years) but his mom emails me regularly, about once a month. I have been tempted just to send him a hello/how are you email and congratulate him on his wedding day - is this OK to do or totally rude and wrong and I should just step back? I don't want to do anything offensive. He and I had a good relationship for 2 years - he wanted marriage but at that time I was 24 and not ready. We were determined to maintain contact after our breakup but of course that didn't happen for too long. I recently saw their wedding pictures and he looked miserable in them. I was surprised because his mom had said how happy they both were. Anyway, what is the best thing to do here?

So this is my first semester in gradschool, everything is new, i dont even know what im suppose to study on. There are no exams, but all projects and readings. On top of that, im 23, everyone is about 30 and in the prime of their careers, so talk about being intimidated. Now, i dont know if i like the professor, he acts like a ******** up there. He said it himself, he is not an ACADEMIC but a CONSULTANT. I dont know.... he just doesnt feel like a professor, more like a sales man. On my other class, the professor was great, so I thinking its probably not adjustment on my part. So im wondering if I should risk my GPA and suck it up.. or drop him and find another class. I cant believe the college hires professors that doesnt have real people skills... Brains are good, but you need to personality to deliver it... He is like a walking textbook to me.

On GMTV this morning there was a mention of the idea that if you eat fast this could lead to weight gain. I'm guessing this theory based on the fact that it takes 3 minutes for your stomach to register your receipt of food and thus if you eat to fast you do not allow yourself time to know when you are full but I want to know what others think about this?? any evidence for / against?

When I first found out I was pregnant, I asked my doctor if I could still go skiing because we already had this trip booked in Breckenridge, CO. She said it would be OK. Then, I went and had my first ultrasound and I didnt see my regular doctor, I saw a midwife who said I shouldn't ski and she asked a different doctor who also said I shouldn't ski. I plan to only be on the bunny hills anyway and it is very soft snow out west even though I do not plan on falling anyway. Did anyone else ski while pregnant and what do you think?

I was a part of a profit sharing plan with my former company. Now that I'm no longer with this company, am I entitled to this money? I still receive notices about its activity every month. The company I currently work doesn't have a profit sharing plan that I could transfer the funds to.
