No it does not make you put on weight but you have a point. It could be related to over eating. You know we produce an anzyme in our stomach that helps the digestion of food. This acid could also be used to make us aware of hunger and the need to eat. It takes approximately 20 minutes from the time we start a meal untill the time our nervous system tells us that we have had enough of food and the stomache's capacity is ful.
So lets say you finish your food in five minutes and You started eating your food when you were hungry. For 15 minutes your nervous system still reports hunger to your brain and it might make you eager to take more food. Therefore you end up eating alot more than you planned or actually needed.
Eating fast could cause many other digestive disorders and in my point of view it actually is a disorder itself.
So take your time while you eat.

Yes that's true. The stomach sends hormonic signal substances like ckk, grehline and others to the brain hypothalamus to communicate that she is full, this signaling happens when the stomach is stretched. If you eat slowly the food first food will get already in the stomac while your eating and stretching will start. If you eat fast, you basically will fill your oesophagus before the food enters in your stomach and the signalling will be delayed and hence you'll eat more and ingest more energy what can result in weight increase.

as with all issues, it relies upon. Fasting for better than 6 hours may reason a "starvation" reaction contained in the body, which usually causes you to larger effectively procedure the energy you're taking in once you do devour. don't be disheartened if the load-loss slows down or stops in the course of the fast. basically comprehend that, by element administration and persevered workout, you could preserve your cutting-edge weight by the fasting era. KING: This sounds like the classic Ramadan quickly - no nutrition between solar-up and solar-down. it isn't a "demanding quickly." also, fasting can comprise ingesting and ingesting on a constrained foundation. it isn't continually an complete cessation of all nutrition and drink.

i think this is true. There is supposed to be something like a 20 min delay from eating food to when your brain registers your stomache is full. By eating quickly you do not allow enough time to know you are full up, therefore you eat more and put on more weight.

Eating the wrong food is what makes you put on weight. This just gives people another excuse, 'I'm fat because i eat too fast not because i eat sh!t'
What a load of rubbish. Why would it take 3 minutes for your body to register you have eaten, you're brain will be preparing to send that message as soon as you have the food in your mouth.

There's a recently published book "French women don't get fat"
that espouses this theory. The author says that people who sit down and eat slowly are less likely to overeat because of the delay in the time it takes to register that you are full. It makes good sense to me.

yes.. according to paul mckenna on tv this morning. he says that nobody needs to diet just eat more slowly. ive always been slim and i eat what i like and lots of it but i have never been able to eat fast so maybe there is truth in it. if you eat slowly the stomach sends a message to the brain that you are full much quicker than if you bolt your food down

Think logically. If by eating fast you mean having the time to eat more, then yes you put on weight. But if you have a meal in front of you, it will not gain you more weight if you eat it faster. That makes no sense.

I think that I agree with the idea that if you eat too fast you may eat too much, which is what puts on the weight. If you stick to an greed number of calories, then it doesn't matter how fast you eat them

It is eating too many calories that will make you gain weight. Wheteher you eat fast or slowly is unimportant. In general, however, people who tend to eat fast usually put in more calories into their stomachs because they cannot sense their satiety just yet.
