I have noticed that in many typed text instances where God is mentioned I often see it typed out as G-D. What is the purpose of this? Does typing out GOD as G-D keep people from being offended or what? And those who would get offended, would they not know G-D was GOD anyway?

The entire office staff (it's a small company - maybe 30 people) and their spouses are all invited to my boss' house tonight for a party. It was sort of last minute (about a week's notice) and the invitation says not to bring any food or drink, as they have it covered. However, as I was talking to others in the office, we feel bad going to someone's house and not bringing anything at all. I need some suggestions on what to bring!

i was 19 1/2 stone just over 2 years ago and i thought its time to make some changes in my life.so basicly i went on a starvation diet for 3 months. i ate about 700 calories a day and as the weight fell off me i also purchased a tread mill i now weigh 12 1/2 stone and with regular exersise and sensible eating i maintain my weight fine..i have heard all the stories about if you loose it 2 quickly you put it all back on. what a lot of people dont realise is that a diet or controlled eating is for life not just until you have shed those extra pounds or stones. think long term and you will do it the sad fact is most people are prone to gain weight by over eating or lack of excersise to combat over eating there is no miricle cure just a bit of disipline required. i hear all these people say well i have tried to diet and it dont work for me. rubbish its a medical fact unlss you have some sort of problems, you dont eat enough your body will eat the fat from you or eat 2 much and it stores

My pimples are blueish, and it lasts for more than a month, i want to take the pus out of the pimple, so that it cures soon. Is there any home remedy, so that pimple becomes easily yellowish and pus come out soon?

I HAVE A 1996 FORD EXPLORER, I HAD THE AUTO ZONE COMPUTER THING AND IT SAID I NEEDED A OXYGEN SENSOR SO I BOUGHT ONE, HAD IT PUT ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. NOW WHAT. I NEED TO GET INSPECTED BUT CANT WITH THAT LIGHT AND WHEN I RESET IT, THE LIGHT WENT OFF FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS AND CAME BACK ON WHAT DO I DO NOW?

okay so i've been going out with this girl for about 8 months. she went on this senior (highschool) retreat thing to Kairos and i was afraid she'd come back "changed" because everyone does. well, she promised me she loved me and nothing bad would happen.. when she came back, she claimed to be "changed" and broke up with me. (keep in mind we were crazy in love for about 7 months. we had our fights and problems but always worked them out). so i was freaked and cried and called my friends and stuff. but then the next night she called me and told me she didn't mean it. since then she's been like that. but she tells me she WANTS me to win her back. i keep messing up somehow.. and she keeps calling me everynight telling me she loves me and just to talk to me for hours. but she never talks to me during the day or comes over like she used to. and like she's really mean to me sometimes. and others all she wants to do is talk to me. like, is this worth it? honestly where do i go from here?

I'm really so confused..can anyone help?i have been hesitating to pass this note to this guy whom i've seen for quite some time..but everyone around me told me that i deserve better and that i shouldn't stoop so low for that guy who isn't even worthy of my attention..but i beg to differ..i feel that even though he doesn't look very friendly..i have this special feeling towards him..a very warm and secure feeling. my sister said that why, as a girl, must i reach that stage of passing a guy my number when i'm not short of suitors..true, i'm not short of suitors but what i'm afraid here is as a girl,i don't have the courage to do so and everytime when i've made up my mind to do it,many other negative thoughts will come in and make me change my mind again.and i'm afraid that if he doesn't respond,my sis will say that i shouldn't have done it and have lost "face" now and making myself sad..i tried following my heart but it's just as confused!

I recently (tues)had a tooth extraction on one of my molars and also had 2 temporary bridges put in. One of them was in place of the extracted tooth I just got pulled and was wondering if anyone knows how long this pain is supposed to last? I was given Ibuprofen 800mg but cannot take it due to I have Inflammatory bowel disease so I was given Tylenol 3 which does nothing at all!! The dentist will not give me anything else but I am in a lot of pain. Is there any thing else that can releive some of this pain...I am desperate.
