My mom came home on hospice care today. 84 Yrs old, with a previously diagnosed aortic valve stenosis (AVS) that has become severe, congestive heart failure, now moderately severe chronic renal failure due to compromised blood flow from AVS. She developed a blistering rash, they think came from Lasix a couple of month ago and took her off diuretics. Also diabetic. I know, sounds BAD, but she was driving last week. Drs.now say there is nothing that can be done, and have her on comfort measure, oxygen, no diuretics. I struggle feeling like...are we accepting this verdict without enough research? Kidneys were fine until hospitalized and they tried to diurese her...created a lot of stress on her kidneys and creatinine rose to 3.9, but down to 2.9 without diuretics. But to do nothing? We live in a small town, but has been seen on best internist and another cardiologist who agreed with hospice. Just want to ensure I am not giving up too soon.

Okay, so I've recently been asked, "What has God done in your life?" by an atheist friend. Having been raised Catholic in the Bible Belt, I have always been surrounded by Christianity and its ideas-never really questioning what I believed, and I was pretty into church too. But as I thought about the question it's easy to say that all of the good things that have happened have happened because of God. But it's just as easy to see that what I've achieved, I've worked hard for. Now I wonder a lot about what I believe, and I got involved with this church group that does comm service not long before this conversation with my friend. It's also a really dogmatic group that meets and prays the rosary daily, which I dislike, but the service is rewarding. But I guess what I've questioned most is what if I think my religious upbringing was good as establishing values but now I just feel like I am a good person...if I continue to be this good person w/or w/o God-what then?

I wanted to save some money when I was going to the salon for highlights, so I tried dying my hair a nice brown base color for my highlights to sit on instead of having them dye it for a million dollars. Well needless to say, it turned out almost jet black when I was trying to get a nice dark brown color! I know that it will probably fade within a few shampoo washes, but I was actually considering dying it a lighter shade of brown. My hair is in terrific shape and I don't think it would hurt it too much to redye it, but I don't know if it will just stay black if I try to do it again. Should I wait to go to the salon or try redying it myself?

My boyfriend has been pushing me to tell my family that we live together. I have gotten to the point where they know I spend "most nights" there, and a few key people know that we live and sleep together. Now, we are visiting his family, and he won't even kiss me in front of them because he dosen't want them to think that we are doing anything "wrong" (he doesn't want them to catch on that we are sleeping together.) Now I am a bit upset by this; I confronted him and he is doing slightly better (he held my hand!!) but is still being totally weird about it. This is not the first time I have met his family, and I am 19 and he is 29 if that makes a difference at all. Thanks!

Right now I am 15(going on 16 in a month) i am 5' 10" or 11" and i weigh around 155(not sure, something is wrong with the scale, doesn't reset properly). I know my weight is average but i got a lot of excess belly fat which is really bad. I quit drinking soda and gave up fast food for the most part. I do not like doing crunches and am considering buying an ab lounge but it's debatable. What do you reccomend that I do to less this stubborn belly and upper chest fat?

I just purchased a Pentax Optio E10 digital camera (http://tinyurl.com/smn8j) and I find that when I go to click the Shutter Release button to take the snapshot, there is an awful 2-3 second delay. If i dont stay rock steady for that full time period the image becomes blurry. Very irritating.

From my quick readings the problem seems to be with the Shutter speed. According to sites the camera is 1/1000 to 2 secs. I'm guessing Im hitting the worst case scenario. How exactly does one get the 1/1000 speed? I've already tried holding down the shutter release button half way to set focus then pressing fully when ready but i still experience a 2 sec or so delay.

My images are being shot in standard mode, in doors with lots of light, no flash, and 640x480 image (JPG).

Can someone recommend a way around this delay?

Say you did something wrong, you got scared you would be found out, so you contacted a legal firm for advice and spilled your guts. But, you never get found out. Can the lawyer report you to the police? I was reading murder mystery and it got my enquiring mind spinning! I am pretty sure a priest can't report you, but I wonder about lawyers.

Here's what happened, we broke up just a week ago. One day, we got together and then in the evening he just texted me that he was sorry he wasn't able to give me what I wanted and that it's hard for him bec. we have a long distance relationship, i have to travel 3 hours just to see him but we talk everyday via mobile. Then I tried to talk to him to clear things out back then but he wouldn't talk to me and now, out of the blue, he suddenly talks to me and asks me how i am and still says i love you...
