I would focus on the environmental aspects of life in 2500.
You could talk about global warming and how hot it is.
You could also talk about the need for better face masks to keep out the carbon dioxide.
You could invent some really cool inventions. A car that runs on air. Talk about reforestation, and how they are replanting all the rainforests.
All sounds a bit gloomy I know, so to lighten the mood (and make an accurate prediction) I would make the President and entire United Nations female. Therefore no wars!
Good luck

i guess pretty much life as it is now. except with better smaller gadgets.
so just use recent technology stories and be creative when changing the technical specifications of the new gadgets.
say for example there is a new computer on the market, and lets say its comparrable with a desktop computer of today with superior data storage etc. but this system is more powerful (processing power) than todays current super computers but the new system is portable you can wear it as an item of clothing (get creative with the fashions) and you view the data on a pair of glasses and to control navigation of the interface the computer recognises wher the user is looking and if say a hyperlink is on the web it can be navigated to by simply fixing gaze on the link for a second or so.
just what ever you do be creative and imaginative. at the end of the day that is what the teacher is looking for, your creativity.
maybe as an opener report "after many millenia of fighting and conflics around the world peace has been agreed by every nation on earth for the first time." or
"today we can exclusively reveal that hit shows of the twentieth century were right when they said we are not alone, (life has been discovered on a distant planet) earlier this week world leaders came together to welcome visitors from (make up a name).
it is your homework. just be creative and use your imagination.
as i said draw on current events and give them a futuristic twist.

Well, we are supposed to have a global warming and transportation will have changed a lot. How do you think housing will be by then? We will probably have a different way to elect the President, if we even have a president. 2500 is a long time from now and your imagination can go wild. Look how much things have changed in 100 years.

Think Irobot the movie. Then put yourself in the future like that. What do you see in your surroundings? How does fashion looks like and what kind of climate do we have? Based on what's going on with global warming.
