I see people all the time on the board posting "Ban Religion", but we all know that would never be possible. I understnad that over the years religion has spread hateful, and intolerant messages, and going back all the way to the Crusades, has cause death. ALL religions have in one form or another.

My question is, how would you make it work, so as to "ban" religion, and yet allow people their individual rights to belief of A God, multiple Gods, or Goddesses, or ANY belief, without losing it?

Without all the commercialism and secularism, Christmas would rank behind Halloween and Easter on holidays. I've heard "Jesus is the reason for the season" a million times, but I disagree. Even the date is stolen from the pagans.

I just heard about a toddler in Houston who was ran over by a family member today, just hours before his baptism.

Since we wasn't baptised yet, does this mean he didn't repent, thus he will go to hell?

Is there a bigger meaning you could think of behind this?

Do you own up to it or do you say: "My God, who did that?" [pass the blame]

"Christians claim that ths particular universe can be explained as God's choice, taken from an infinite range of alternatives, for reasons that are unknown to us. But even an omnipotent God cannot break the rules of logic. God cannot make 2=3, or make a square a circle. The hasty assumption that God can create any universe must be qualified by the restriction that it be logically consistent. Now if there exists only one logically consistent universe then God would effectively have had no choice at all. If there really is only one possible sort of creation, why do we need a creator at all? What function could he have save for "pushing the button" to set the thing going? But such a function does not require a mind--it would merely be a triggering mechanism and even that is not needed in the world of quantum physics. So does this philosophy of a uniquephysical solution to the fundamental logical-mathemtical equation of the universe deny the existence of God? Indeed not.

I've heard that no-one really knows why, but I recently did some pottery and the wet clay is much darker than the fired or even just dried clay. Maybe some chemist knows the answer?!

The time has come for me to go back to work after maternity leave. My little boy was born prematurely at 24 weeks gestation and spent the first five months in hospital the last seven months he has spent with me as his sole carer. I take him to a kiddie music class once a week and visit his grandparents often.

We are now torn as to what type of childcare we should go for, a creche which is near my work or a nanny who will look after him at his own home.

My little boy's only problem with being born prematurely is having a bad chest and as I don't drive, I don't relish dragging him onto a bus at 7am but my husband fears that he may be isolated with a nanny rather than a creche, he is also worried about the horror stories you read about.

I'd love some thoughts and opinions from everyone.

Thanks in advance for your help

Margaret

I need to know the basic stuff on excel. I've used it before, but not in a long time. Stuff like making it do sums, and percentages of columns. I just need a refresher on the basics. Thanks!

They don't seem to be used interchangeably.
I'm wondering what nuance makes one more appropriate in one situation than the other.
