I need to know the basic stuff on excel. I've used it before, but not in a long time. Stuff like making it do sums, and percentages of columns. I just need a refresher on the basics. Thanks!

Microsoft's website has great little Training and Demo videos and instructions for anything you might need to do. Find them here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/default.aspx

Good luck!

The most frequently used equation is SUM. Put your cursor in the cell where you want the answer and type: =SUM(A1..A25) (this is a range of cells to add up) or =SUM(B2+C17) This is adding just two specific cells)

Look at Help/Contents for some basic instructions.

If you're going to add two cells, you don't need to use SUM. Using:
= A1+A2 gives the same answer as:
= SUM(A1+A2)
Sum is intended for more than two consecutive cells,
= A1+A2+A3+A4 is the same as:
=SUM(A1+A2+A3+A4), but can be better written as:
=SUM(A1:A4) which sums all the cells from A1 to A4.
