I am talking about the Southern provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narthiwat.
I understand back in 2004 there was a massacre committed by the Govt. which is the main reason for this violence (possibly).
General Suyrad recently visited these provinces and apologized eventhough he was not responsible. It seems like the violence is getting worse.
I think it will take forever until these provinces regain trust of the Govt. It is rumored that they may turn to be autonomous within the next 3 years.

I get the impression that General Suyrad means well but it will be a losing battle.

Also, regarding the situation I heard that Government officials are in on it (no surprise) and also that the insurrgents were trying to recruit Cambodian Muslims.
What a mess!
Again, I am interested in hearing from Thai people.
I been currently living in Thailand for the past year and a half and have visited several times previously. It is a great country and remains safe elsewhere.

I have a strong feeling that I am pregnant, my breast hurt and I have back pains a little... everytime I walk. I feel like I want to throw up....but I don't. My overys hurt...I feel like I'm cramping and I LOOK FAT. I'm not uses to THIS KINDA THING HAPPENING. I gained weight. :( I uses to be 145, now I'm 160. My sister says to poked the side of my tummy to see if there is something in there...I did and it hurt like ****. It was this shooting pain in my stomach to my thighs. I have to pee every freaken hour. I usaully pee 2 maybe 3 times a day because I can hold my pee for about 18 hours. I was going to have my sister buy a Pregnancy Test for me because I don't have any money right now. I don't know what I'm going to do. I know for a fact that if I happen to be pregnant I AM NOT GIVING UP MY BABY, meaning I refuse to have an abortion.

2 men 1 woman, and their dogs are at the vets. The first man's dog asked the second man's dog what he's there for. They are putting me down. "Oh no! Why? The second dog says, "Well, you see.. I work in a corporate office and hold a manager position. I have three employees that report to me and as a group, we exchange gifts for the holidays. Its always been about $25 each in a gift certificate and every year I have given this to my boss as well. My boss does not exchange with us and is not part of our group exchange. He does not offer a gift to me as his direct report. Should I continue to buy something for him or no? Thanks!

I really need help because i am in Middle School and well i am....well..." popular " and the guy i like is well....lets put it this way...he is the " class clown " also my friend thinks he is a wierdo but thats why i like him and i think if she knows i like him she'll laugh.

Recently, I sang at kareoke at a local bar, and people complimented me how well I sang "New York, New York". I thought nothing of it... but I sang another Sinatra song in my car, and girlfriend said you can really hold a note well. My father was an acomplished nightroom singer of Sinatra type music... and when I was in grade school I was always in top singing clubs etc. But, my voice changed when I hit puberty, and I gave it up. Now, 13 or so years later... is it worth it to take vocal lessons. Id love to sing at a local nightclub or something someday. I have a great career and doubt I have the voice to be a big singer.... but is vocal coaching worth the money??

One of my girlfriends has four sisters and they all have flower names (Hyacint, Violet, Daisy, Petunia and Rose). One of her sisters' kids have all color names (Jade, Saffron and Sage). She is pregnant now and wants more than one kid. She wants to give them fruit names (the first one is to be called Cherry - she's pregnant with a girl).
We're trying to make her see how hard it is to grow up with silly names, especially if you're a part of the set. I think the poor kid might suffer.
How do we make her stop it?
