unless there is somereason the epidural would be dangerous to you, you can get it wether you are early, on time, or late. As for a c/s it depends on your doctor. Many doctors absolutly will not do a c/s unless there is a danger to baby or mom, or labor doesn't progress in a timely manner, because it is a major surgery and like all, routine major surgery's there is always a risk something could go wrong. good luck

Well....if the time comes...and you are past your due date...Most likely your OB will give you an intravenious (IV) drug called pitocin...which is used to help start and regulate contractions...If your OB feels that you have been in labor too long...then a C Section will probably be the outcome...Unless you have some medical problem...there should be no reason why you could not get an epidural...But, hang in there..you don't have much longer to go....even if you do go over your due date...that's just more cookin' for that little baby of yours....Best Wishes to you!!

You could deliver anytime now, and it really does not matter if you are over due to get a epidural. As for a scheduled c-section it is entirely up to you & your OB. Some Obs (like mine) will only do c-sections when medically necisarry

They doctor will deal with these decisions. You just concentrate on thinking positively, be calm and eat well, get rest.
