I live in Newport News, VA. I got a notice last week about us violating city code whatever for putting our trash cans out before 3pm the day prior to trash collection. Okay, guilty.....

This week, we purposely put our leaf bags in our yard and not on the curb until it was time. I got another notice, stating that we had violated that code again, and that they would ticket us. I called and the person who answered said that it just looked bad to have leaf bags in your front yard. We do not live in a homeowner's assocation, so I'm thinking they can't say anything about my leaf bags being in MY YARD. They were'nt on the city curb. Does anyone know???? I'm pissed!

im having a debate, I do martial arts (jujitsu-go shin ryu) and im confused, im slim, healthy and not in bad shape. i dont go to the gym as i live a healthy life style.

when i asked my training partner if we could hire a hall out so we could train more as we only train once a week, he said i should do it at home.

now im not sure about you out there but i have trouble putting people in wrist/arm/shoulder/leg locks when they arent there, and dont get me started on the throws!!!

i dont have room to complete my katas at my house but i run through them in my head all the time.

so can i really improve my martial art by just exercising? or am i right to assume that i need the technique practice too?

but how do you do something like that?

when i asked them this they just said "do your stretches"

can i really improve the art like that or am i right to assume that with jujitsu go shin ryu i need more practicle practice?

Sorry, I posted about this earlier and don't know how to edit that post or respond to those who answered... but thanks to all for responding... i thought it was 'overheating' because the coolant itself is getting very hot and bubbling up and steam/smoke is coming from under the hood, but it's true that the temp gauge in the car is not indicating overheating. I had the system flushed not too long ago and no problems popped up at that time. Maybe the better question is, being a single female, how do I present this problem to a mechanic without getting raked over the coals?

My roommate and I share an apartment, I'm not on the lease, she is. I gave her 30 days notice that I will be moving out within those 30 days. Does the rent and utilities have to be paid up in full, upon my departure, even though the rent isn't due til the 5th of next month. The utilities bills I don't have a problem paying there here already. But, by the time I leave, the rent wont be due til another 3 weeks. Like I told her that's her problem not mine. I'm only here for 2 weeks. Or should half of my rent be given to her( for those 2 weeks , that I'm here) . I'm trying to be fair about this. I wouldn't want no one to leave me hanging like this. She's beening such a but hole about everything now. Which i know she can't afford to live here once I move out. But things happen....
