Maybe those are the girls you are interested.... I would say insecurity. Try dating more mature women, that will help.

Evolutionary psychology reckons that women are wired to value emotional commitment more highly than men (don't want him running off and leaving her to raise the children). If she's interested but doesn't feel you're committed enough she'll keep testing you to know where she stands. Although I have come across some women who play head games no matter what, and I wouldn't even take them on as friends.

We don't have to and not all of us do. Among the married couples I know, both partners do or neither of them does.
