I live in a rural village surrounded by flooded fords, acres of surface water and crumbling lanes (you would not believe the pot holes!) so I need a vehicle that gets me up off the ground. I've been told to avoid the Freelander, have now had a bad report on the Nissan X-Trail and am now considering the Honda CR-V. Is this a good reliable car? I want something as economical as poss (I know 4x4 are not as economical as cars). Anyone got any ideas?

I'm rather upfront about most things to my friends and usually I act on impulse. Most of the times I don't regret what I say/do either, especially if it's something they ask my opinion on. But lately it's been bothering me, sometimes what I'm saying isn't being understood the way I meant it to be . I've come to realize that if I was someone else, I wouldn't want to hang out with me, because of my rude behavior. I also tend to pick on people and argue just to start a 'riff'. I want to try to contain myself, but, I don't know how to start. How can I go from the girl who has an attitude about everything to the nice girl who people enjoy being around. I don't have any idea where to start. I feel as if my attitude is my defense to keep people from hurting me. I would really like to let people in and and stop being a bully, but how do I do it? How do I open up and show people I care and I'm a nice person deep down someplace hidden? Everything I've tried has failed. I'd appreciate any help

A priest decides to take a walk to the pier near his church. He looks around and finally stops to watch a fisherman load his boat. The fisherman notices, and asks the priest if he would like to join him for a couple of hours.

The priest agrees. The fisherman asks if the priest has ever fished before, to which the priest says no. He baits the hook for him and says, 'Give it a shot father'. After a few minutes, the priest hooks a big fish and struggles to get it in the boat. The fisherman says 'Whoa, what a big sonofabitch!'

The Priest says, 'Uh, please sir, can you mind your language?'

The Fisherman responds (THINKING QUICKLY), 'I'm sorry father, but that's what this fish is called - a sonofabitch!'

'Oh, I'm sorry', replied the Priest. 'I didn't know.' After the trip, the priest brings the fish to the church and spots the bishop.

'Eminence, look at this big sonofabitch!'

'Please Father', said the Bishop. 'Mind your language, this is a house of God.' 'No, you don't understand', said the Priest. 'That's what this fish is called, and I caught it. I caught this sonofabitch!' 'Hmmm', said the Bishop. 'You know, I could clean this sonofabitch and we could have it for dinner.' So the Bishop takes the fish and cleans it, and brings it to Mother Superior at the convent. 'Mother Superior could you cook this sonofabitch for dinner tonight?' 'My lord, what language!', said the Mother Superior.

'No, Sister', said the Bishop. 'That's what the fish is called - a sonofabitch! Father caught it, I cleaned it, and we'd like you to cook it.' 'Hmmm', replied Mother Superior. 'Yes, I'll cook that sonofabitch tonight.' Well, the Pope stops by for dinner with the three of them, and they all think the fish is great. He asks where they got it. 'I caught the sonofabitch!', said the Priest.

'And I cleaned the sonofabitch!', said the Bishop.

'And I cooked the sonofabitch!', said the Mother Superior.

The Pope stares at them for a minute with a steely gaze, but then takes off his hat, puts his feet up on the table, and says, 'You know, you f*ckers are alright'.

We all know that hot water rises, but if this is the case; why does water freeze on the surface and not at the bottom where all the cold (coldest) water should be?

I have never eaten fruit and vegetables, they truly make sick, 'cept spuds, processed peas and tinned tomatoes, in my life ever! I even refused it as baby apparently. To this day it's meat, all kinds, including burgers, bacon, sausages. Chips, eggs, bread, cheese and fish. Lots of pastry dishes, including pies of all description. I love fried food. I can sit and eat a full pack of chocolate digestives in one sitting. A dozen bags of crisps too, not in the same night, that would be greedy! Chocolate of every description. I drink about 12 mugs of tea a day, i smoke, don't excercise,my job is a driver, not too strenuous. I don't drink alcohol.
I'm 41, look 35, really! My blood pressure is 109 over 57, cholesterol is ok, I'm 5foot 11inches and weigh 11.5 stone. And my doctor reckons i'm one of life's anomalies and i'll live to be about 90!(I thought he was gonna hit me when he said that!)
Why should I live a healthier lifestyle?

Our fourteen year old daughter has been harrassed, & now has confronted our daughter & constantly is threatning her. The reason-------- her ex-boyfriend ( I would hardly call him that, they hardly ever talked on the phone, & never seen eachother because he is 1 year older & now attends high school ) has a new girlfriend who is absolutely obsessed with him & the fact that our daughter is his ex. As a mother who in school, never experienced anything like this, ( I was a jock, stuck up for all who got bullied, & people were just intimidated by me) my first initial reaction would be to beat the living hell out of this chick, however, thats definetly not the answer, as an adult that is just not acceptable, & being a true believer & lover of CHRIST JESUS, I am to walk in love under all circumstances. But I have been walking in love for the past 14 years of our daughters life . I also know that I have to set an example because we have 4 daughters. ( there all younger than her) What to do?

A PhD friend of mine who is 65 told me I should start drawing social security when I hit 62 instead of waiting. He says the present worth calculations will show this is better. I am qualified to draw the maximum amounts based on my past payments to the system. I do not have any other savings, and plan to continue working anyway as long as I can. Should I take his advice?

I am not currently a veggie so when I go into a restaraunt I often ask the waitress if they like something on the menu and I have gotten many veggie waitresses. As veggies and vegans, what do you think about that? thanks! (I am not trying to be rude or harrass anyone, this is a real, honest question)

A major reason why the League of Nations failed to prevent World War II is that it didn't have an army; neither does the UN, so why/how will the UN succeed where the League of Nations didn't?

The UN forbade the invasion of Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein, but it was ignored, so what difference does it make?
