A major reason why the League of Nations failed to prevent World War II is that it didn't have an army; neither does the UN, so why/how will the UN succeed where the League of Nations didn't?

The UN forbade the invasion of Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein, but it was ignored, so what difference does it make?

First, The UN did not forbid the invasion of Iraq. There was no resolution to this effect. You can say they disagreed and made noise publicly, but that is as far as it went.

The UN is useless and will fail eventually. The UN is interested in the perception of action not the application. If an entity tasked with keeping world peace is unwilling to enforce it's mandates then it's mandates become toothless. No one in the world takes the UN seriously, especially dictators and despots. Anyone can talk a good game, but most of us can easily recognize blowhards and thus ignore them without due consideration.

The UNs influence in the world, is governed by how much control the USA and Security Council have over it. If that control is taken away, by for example, allowing smaller insignificant countries to join the Security Council as permanent members, then the UN will die, as did the League of Nations.

The UN is a corrupt, useless, American-hating institution.

We're wasting our time, money and a lot of valuable real estate in Manhattan by being involved in the UN.

They constantly work against the USA,

The UN only has influence over smaller nations. The powerful nations use it to force their opinions on smaller countries while they themselves ignore the UN and do what they want.

Even corrupt Governments are members of it. It is like a committee, a giant talking shop. The whole idea is to do nothing, inertia.

The super powers use the UN to advance their 'agendas', nothing more. When that stops, the UN will be useful.
