I'm really on the fence about immigration. From studying demographics and history, we know that we need "fresh blood" to stay strong as a nation. And I also believe that if you're willing to make the incredible journey to El Norte, you're probably good enough, tough enough to make it here. Everybody knows that immigrants 2nd generation outperforms "regular" American's in almost every measure - right? Actually I don't know that, haven't seen any solid evidence.
But... what about the healthcare costs, the language costs, the crime rate... sure there's lots of talk, but where's the evidence?
This is a plea for reliable data to inform this debate, pro and con. If you supply it, you'll get the points - and my gratitude.
This is not a joke.
