Some lady offered to give me hypnosis to help me with my anxiety, but I turned her down because I was too scared...like what does it feel like when you're being hypnotized? does it just feel like you're asleep? does time go really fast like it does when you're asleep?

what about the whole process of being hypnotized - like how does it work that someone can just coax you into hypnosis? and what does it feel like when this is happening?

You don't go to sleep, it's really relaxing. After I went home I kept crying at everything anyone said to me, but I was hypnotized to stop smoking, and when I got home my husbands cigarettes were right on the table and I got really emotional, and starting crying, I felt like I wanted one but didn't want one, and couldn't have one. It was weird. I would do it again if I had to.

in my experience i would advise you against having this done and seek another form of anxiety reducer. i too had this lady offer to hypnotise me to decrease acute anxiety and symptoms of depression that i was experiencing. at the time i did not know that i was experiencing these types of conditions, i was at work and having episodes of shortness of breath, crying spells, etc. and a co worker began practicing NLP(neurolinguistic programming) on me without my permission. from my recollection she did this in a room full of other co-workers and clientele and she proceeded to dig into my unconscious mind and reveal traumatic events that had happened to me as a child and as a college student that i had repressed and had forgotten about over the years. to make a long terrible story short, i began to react to these things as they were happening at that point in time and needless to say she and my other co-workers at the time found out that i had been sexually abused as a child and had been drugged and raped as a college student. i remember these things now because she stirred these things up while having me under hypnosis and not being trained or licensed in the field she did not know what she was doing or what type of damage she did to me further psychologically. when i tried to alert my supervisor to what had happened she totally thought i was having psychotic symptoms and eventually caused me to lose my job. i have had to live with this for the past five years and have dealt with severe depression and post tramautic stress disorder because this lady couldn't mind her own business and keep her new hobby to herself. i hope u consider my story when u think about letting someone you don't know into your unconscious mind, it can be very devistating if the person is unethical and has other motives other than helping you through your problem. Good Luck and God Bless!

It feels like deep relaxation. If done correctly it can help in many ways.

You just need to find a certified hypnotist or psychologist, in whom you caqn have absolute trust.

Nope.. you wont feel anything...
you will be out of your senses and cant feel any emotion or anxiety.... if you go through the process........ you will feel relax afterwards especially the emotional turmoil inside you.... most people are afraid to go through the process because they are afraid to "let go" of these heavy emotional budens they have.. they still keep on clinging to it.... .because most of them feel comfortable with it....
