I'm used to eating bread with olive oil at restaurants and it tastes great to me. However when I try that at home for some reason it doesn't taste the same. I'm not even sure if it's ok to use an olive oil from a bottle without "preparing it" first. Is that what restaurants do? And what type of olive oil do restaurants use?

On Friday, there was an all day conference my daughter attended for 7th & 8th graders. Near the end of the day, my daughter went to pick up her ID card which had fallen to the floor. She was told by a counselor to pick up a cell phone which was near the ID card. My daughter picked up the cell phone and placed it on a table nearby.
At the end of the day, all the girls (70 of them) went to gather their bags to leave. One girl, Nubia, from the 8th grade noticed her phone was missing. The counselor said, "Oh Skylar picked it up". Nubia then went to Skylar, who said she had placed it on the table. But when Nubia went to look, it was gone. Nubia then accused Skylar of stealing the phone, which Skylar denied. At this point, one of the teachers searched my daughter's clothing and bag, which were of course empty. No one apologized to her after this.
This experience has her avoiding school since the 8th graders were nasty and accusatory even after the search. How would you handle this?

has anyone tried the murad 3 step acne complex? is it really effective as it claims on its website? cos my skin is rather sensitive and i dont want any harsh chemicals causing reactions. i tried proactive but it totally dried out my skin. so yup.

Yes, some people have legitimate medical problems... but there is NO excuse for becomming 300lbs or more. I understand some people are emotional eaters, but why blame their past or depression instead of themselves for 1) buying the junk food, 2) eating it in mass quantity, 3) not making any serious effort to change?

I understand it is really difficult to live at that weight, but why can't they view it as a disease like cancer, and really make an effort to take care of their health? If you were diagnosed with cancer, you'd adhere to whatever diet to cure yourself, correct? Why not do the same when "diagnosed" with obesity?

I'm thinking of having a place where people can release their anger and break stuff for a relatively cheap price.
Sort of like a room where you buy time for your band to practice.
I came up with the idea when a lot of times I look around and wish I could just destroy everything in my apartment but can't because of the darkness (lamps) and lack of music (radio ), and video (my tv) that would result because of the breakage. The action would be worth it but the lack of stuff afterwards wouldn't. Breaking stuff that isn't yours has worked in the past to get the agression out. . So I'm just asking.

I'm in the military and was a part of a funeral today. After we gave the proper respects for a fallen comrade, the family let white doves out. I asked a few people and they said it was a sign that the person's soul is being sent to heaven. But where did it all originate from? How did this tradition get started? How many doves do they release and is there a corelation with their age? I just thought it was interesting that many people know about this tradition, but no one seems to know anything about it. Can anyone help me out?

k here the story my mom dosen't like anyone who gets close to me as soon as they get close she pushes them away im the third child,second and last daughter in a family of 4 and my sister being 21 no job drop out high school gets waited on hand and foot and me a sraight a vocaly talented caring daughter gets nuthin but insults and my mom the other day watched my sister punch me in the face because i yelled at her for taking the feather pillows that i payed for from my room and she did nuthin.My mother is trying to put me in a group home because she can't except the fact that in january i will be a legal adult and will be able to leave her outta my life 4 ever how can i keep her from having me put away?
