Ok.....my girlfriend has had the hardest year of her life, she was knocked over by a speeding driver and nearly killed in June of this year, spent 3 months in hospital.......besides that while she was in her hospital bed her boyfriend (now ex obviously) was cheating on her...

Luckily, she is making a full recovery and is now walking ok, without crutches.
I really want to buy her something special and meaningful but like a lot of men im crap at buying gifts.....ive been with her a month too so its early days....

Its her 20th birthday on the 19th of November
any suggestions on what i can buy her or where i should take her?

Well i have a situation, tomorrow there's a party for my friend's farewell and the girl i have a crush on is coming. We're both actually like close friends. However, I'll be going back to my home country for the holidays the week after and is it worth it to tell her how I feel? If it is, how am I gonna tell her?

BTW, the party is mostly dancing and clubbing. I tried to ask her out before but she told me she's having a haircut that day and she doesn't like people to see her hair get cut. Is that a sign?

I have a 17 yr step daughter living with me. must she be 18 before she leaves home or can she leave just shy of her 18th birthday? (in 10 days she will be 18). she is a terror and causes so much trouble i cant take her anymore, her dad and i finally agreed on kicking her out at 18.

I'm wring this on behalf of a friend in college who I'm concerned about, who I'll refer to as "they." They go to Burger King on average 6-12 times per week and I think they are forced to go out like this because of their living situation and work schedule. If anyone has seen "Super Size Me" and I know it can't be pretty what they are doing to their body.

Like I said I'm concerned for my friend and I don't know exactly how to talk with them about it...any advice?

I have read all the guff about how to quit smoking,I was given the ultimate choice,carry on smoking and die,or quit and live,I have not smoked for over 3 months and to be quite honest,I wonder why I ever smoked,I do not miss it one iota,but you have to be ready mentally for this,no gums or potions will do it for you

i know its weird 2 ask on yahoo answers but i need 2 know!!
i was molested 10 years ago from our 15 year old neighbour i was 8! i kept it inside for 9 years then i confronted him and he denied and said that if he did anything 2 hurt me that he is sorry!

I can`t open my email everytime i want to open my mail in yahoo or hotmail or anywhere they said `the page cant not be displayed`` but i can go anywhere to open any websites but is only with the email i can not get any new account i cant not retrieve any mail somebody told me that i have to uninstall the adobe media flash and install it again that's it? pls help.

It seems like there's an awful lot of bashing on the boards. I'm a republican, I'll concede that the Dem's won. I'm actually happy with most of the results. It's probably time for a good change. However, it seems that there is almost a sigh of relief from the Dem-nation that they "finally won one", and this is going to be their time to party and everything will change.

I think more than ever we need to accept each other for our beliefs and end the hate that we display towards conflicting oppinions.

My boyfriend & I have been together for 2 yrs now & have been living together most of that time. We plan to get married & apart from the usual niggles, are really happy.

My problem is his parents. They have a 'family portrait' in their house which features the four of them along with my boyfriends ex. This really upsets me, especially since they dont have a single photo of me & my boyfriend displayed. He has tried talking to them, & explained how I feel, but they refuse to take it down, so I am refusing to go to their house.

Am I being unreasonable
