Why are there so many bibles?And which one of them is the true word of God? I have reaserched about the New Testament and found out that it has 27 books: four Gospels and then other books and letters of various writers known as apostles. But Catholics add some verses in the Gospels that are not accepted by the Protestants. The Catholics as well as the Eastern Orthodox Christians accept some books that are not accepted by the Protestants.
As far as the ancient manuscripts of the Bible are concerned, it is known to the Biblical scholars that most of the manuscripts came from the fourth century CE down. The manuscripts that are discovered are mostly partial and their texts differ from each other considerably. M. M. Parvis in the Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible (vol. 4, pp. 594-595) says, "The New Testament is now known, in whole or in part, in nearly five thousand Greek manuscripts alone. Every one of these handwritten copies differ from the other one… It has been estimated that these manuscripts and quotations differ among themselves between 150,000 and 250,000 times

I've known him for 8 years, he was my first love and I still think about him and visa versa. I have a bf, care about him and love him, together for 2.5years, but don’t know if he is the 1. this has been goin on 4 last wk. we tried a cage an e jus went beserk-the noise was jus unbelieveable n jus got worse!! the barkin doesnt quieten down or stop it jus gets worse thru the nite. neighbours have complained. we been puttin his bed in kitchen with the door open with safety gate across.we have ended up lettin im sleep wi out gate n e been free- this is the only way e doesnt bark. i knw this will lead to chewin later but we need sleep!.the problem doesnt seem 2 b im bein left alone-it seems 2 b wen we put a barrier up wen we go out or go bed.we thought e wud b used 2 it by now but the prob jus gettin worse!!
any ideas? please!!

I Dont want to win things by cheating,diving, kicking lumps out of each other. That was a disgrace last night, the likes of TERRY (England's captain) LAMPARD, COLE to name but a few are skillful enough, without resorting to those tactics last night. There's nothing more frustrating than getting out of the way from a bad tackle (because you are so quick and aware)than putting in your retaliation first(ha ha). I want JOSE to publically condemn the stomping,kung fu kicks, the freigning injury,and assure me no Chelsea player will drop to this level.

John Kerry is now suffering from hoof in mouth disease based on his recent statements.

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Now Mr. Kerry claims this is a botched joke about Mr. Bush. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but if something you say is completely misinterpreted by a group should you not only make your intentions known, but also apologize to the offended group for the misunderstanding? If so, then why is Mr. Kerry refusing an apology to the soldiers he insulted?

Kerry said the comment in question was "a botched joke about the president and the president's people, not about the troops ... and they know that's what I was talking about."

It reads to me like I have nothing to apologize for and if you can't understand that, well that's just too bad.

I have quite a bit of weight to lose but as I am disabled with athritus I cant excercise as much as I used to as I am quite sedentary. I used to swim every day to keep fit. I have been on the Cambridge diet for a month and lost a stone which was wonderful but then all of a sudden my appetite came back with a vengence and I couldnt control my eating, I have never binged like this before. I understand that I had been depriving my body of something it needs and of course its craving it now, but when will the binge eating stop? Stupid question I know but I am desperate.

Is there a specific reason why they all get appointed differently?
What other names are there? ..I can only remember crescent, circle& close.

Why? Because i noticed people taking offence if you say the name wrong. Like if a streets name is Jackson Avenue, you may never call it Jackson Road.

I was raised as a catholic, but renounced my faith when I was about 12 or something. However, I still sometimes get pangs of catholic guilt - you know, where you feel guilty even though you haven't done anything wrong.

Does anyone else still have unwanted interruptions from a faith they long ago discarded?
