Ok, you need to exercises him, walk him, play ball, tug, whatever it takes for the 2 hours before bedtime every day. If he is making noise ALL night, he isn't getting the attention and exercise he needs during the day.

However... you need to teach him , so dont Wait until just before U want to go too bed to do the fallowing.....practice!

Put the "cage" or crate in your room, this is so he can see or hear you, and you can be close enough to comfort or correct immediately...

Place him in it, and when he starts barking say "hush".. firmly, if he doesn't hush, squirt him with a touch of water while saying "NO! HUSH!", step out of sight, wait ten seconds... if he makes a sound, repeat the spray and command. Repeat this as often as necessary until he quiets down... and when I say quiet.. that mean for 10 seconds, then 20, 30 ... baby steps.. gradually increase the time, once quiet, take him out, let him potty, and play with him... now... put him back in the cage and repeat the process...

NEVER Take him out or talk to him other than "HUSH" when he is being noisy.. that will only encourage the behavior. It wont take long, and he will learn when he is good he gets loves and toys..

Have a good sleep!

When he's not locked behind a barrier, does he let you sleep? We tried leaving our baby Akita a hot-water bottle, a big furry toy and even a radio playing softly near her box but it only worked for a few hours. My Akita was a howler until she figured how to get out of her pen the 2nd week we had her. She was quiet that night and I thought, "Finally....she's settled Down." Then when I got up in the morning she was asleep across the bedroom doorway. She just wanted to be closer to us. Imagine it. One day you have all these warm fuzzy bodies to play and sleep with. Next, your locked in a cage, alone!! If you can put him in a spot near you without waking you at night, that would be the way to go. As he gets older and comes to realise your not going to leave him, he will settle down. Use your barrier to keep him from rooms where he can do damage at night.
Good luck!

Dear Allnighter, This is the solution to your problem. Make a nice bed in one of those heavy duty wax boxes fruit come in or the like for your pup then put this bed in your room and slowly but surely gradually move this bed each night to the place you wish the pup to sleep. It worked with others, itll work for you. Good Luck. PZB
p.s. The answer is not always a "Shock Collar".

put him in the bedroom at night. If you want to train him to the cage start by feeding him in it with door open. progress to door closed then for gradually longer times after hes eaten
