I was raised as a catholic, but renounced my faith when I was about 12 or something. However, I still sometimes get pangs of catholic guilt - you know, where you feel guilty even though you haven't done anything wrong.

Does anyone else still have unwanted interruptions from a faith they long ago discarded?

Yes, anytime I am in a situation that is beyond human control, like the illness or death of a loved one.

I find myself, praying to a god that I am not sure exists, just in case. I guess it's like hedging your bets, and playing both sides of the fence.

And there is an old saying, that there are no atheists on death beds.

I was raised as a catholic and was completely unsatisfied with it. I think that a lot of the stuff the catholic church does is made up by man.

I renounced my faith in the catholic church and decided to follow strictly only the bible.

Perhaps i sholdn't be answering your question, but recently, i fell away pretty bad from Jesus. I was doing drugs and lots of gambling. It led me to a pretty cruddy life, and I felt Jesus tugging at my heart. I reapplied my faith in Him and feel much better. Who knows? perhaps Jesus is tugging at your heart too?

I suggest praying to Jesus, ask Him to reveal himself to you, and then go from there.

I was raised a Christian, and questioned it since I was about 12 years old. To me, it was illogical. G-d is One. When I was 30, I completely left it and converted to Judaism. It was the greatest thing I could do. I like where I am, and feel I am where I am suppose to be.

Fortunately, I was not part of the Catholic cult, so I did not have to overcome the programming they are famous for. You are to be commended for breaking away, unless you jumped into some other religious cult, in which case, you are not even half way there yet.

Yes, sometimes I wonder if maybe God is a reality but when I think about how today's religious leaders are hypocritical sinners, all those silly thoughts get knocked out of my head.

Every great now and then. For the most part, I worked hard to shed it, and it still took me about six years to really be able to stand back and say "Wow, I can look at that objectively now". But it'll still get me sometimes...
