Ok, so, I'll start from the beggining
Im 13, and me and my mom have always had a good relationship. I We tell each other everything.
Lately, she was gone on a buisness trip, and we had International Day at school. I stayed from 3 till 7 (start of Int. Day) o'clock. Some of my friends stayed too.
One guy in the class, Nick, my best male friend in the class, and went into our homeroom class and...well...we kissed. But it felt so right!
When I told my mom, she totally flipped! She said no dating/kissing/hugging guys till I'm 16!!! All my friends are allowed! Is this right? I mean, she's talking 11th grade! What do I do??? Please help me! All my friends can date!
Also, I have a stepdad. I can't argue with mom because my stepdad hits me. He'd kill me if he found out that I kiss guys at school. Both my mom and stepdad are very strict about learning, and they think that at school I should only focus on my education.
ALSO my mom has cancer and I can't worry her. What do I do?

I have a Hypersonic CX7 Duo, with a SIIG eSATA II express card (SAE 512). The card registers when it is plugged in, but I cannot get the drive to register at all. It doesn't do anything - blink, beep... I am running a 320 GB Seagate drive in a Rosewill SATA II encasing. The USB connection works fine, but I got it to be a SATA speed drive. Any suggestions? The driver is updated. I am at a loss.

My configuration:

MS Windows XP Professional
100GB 7200rpm Serial-ATA Hard Drive with NCQ & 8MB Cache -
2048MB Mushkin PC530
Intel® 945PM chipset + ICH7M Mobile Motherboard
2.00GHz Intel® Core Duo Processor T2500
Nvidia Quadro FX 2500M PCI-Express 512MB GDDR3

Anything special I need to change to make this work? Maybe something in the bios?

Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. They loaded up in
Jack's
Mini-van and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they
Got caught in a terrible blizzard. They pulled into a nearby farm and
Asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the
night.
"I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge
House all to myself, but I'm recently widowed," she explained.
"I'm afraid neighbors
will talk if I let you stay in my house."
"Don't worry ," Jack said.
"We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light." The lady agreed,
And the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the
night. Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their
way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.

About nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an
attorney.
It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally
determined
that was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.
He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, "Bob, do you remember that
good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up
North?"
"Yes, I do."
"Did you happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the
House and pay her a visit?"
"Yes," Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out. "I have to admit that I did."
"And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your
name?"
Bob's face turned red and he said, "Yeah, sorry, buddy. I'm
afraid
I did. Why do you ask?"

"She just died and left me everything."
(And you thought the ending would be different, didn't you?
Now keep that smile for the rest of the day!)

(10/26/06 - LAWRENCEVILLE, GA) - An immigrant from Africa has gone on trial on charges alleging he circumcised his 2-year-old daughter with a pair of scissors to avoid bringing shame on his family.

It appears to be a groundbreaking prosecution for a case of female genital mutilation in the U.S., said Taina Bien-Aime, executive director of Equality Now, a New York-based human rights group that focuses on violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world.

Khalid Adem could face 40 years in prison if convicted in Gwinnett County on the charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to children.

Prosecutor Marty First acknowledged that Adem, who was born in Ethiopia, is from a culture that practices female circumcision.

"But circumcision is just a nice way of saying mutilation," First told the jury in his opening statement Tuesday. "There is no doubt that she was mutilated. And this is not something you go to a doctor and do because no doctor will do it. He did this to his own baby."

The practice, a tradition in some African cultures, is widely condemned by human rights groups and has been outlawed in the United States since 1997.

Police have said that Adem used scissors to circumcise his daughter in their Duluth apartment in 2001. The child's mother said she didn't discover it until more than a year later.

"He did not do that. He never wanted it to happen," defense attorney W. Mark Hill told the jury. "He will tell you that. And that only leaves two people. The people who were primarily taking care of the child. The mother and the grandmother."

First said the girl told Gwinnett County authorities that her father cut her. The prosecutor quoted Adem as saying in late 2002 and early 2003 that if the girl were not circumcised, "it will be a shame to the family."

"He said he wanted (the girl) to have it done so that she will not be promiscuous," First added. He also said Adem implied he had already circumcised the girl.

Hill denied Adem ever made any of those statements and asked how the victim's mother could not have known for more than a year that the girl was circumcised.

Hill said Fortunate Adem's allegations stem from a nasty divorce and a custody battle over the girl.

I'm curious to know how it's possable to not support the war or our government, but to support the troops. As a veteran of the Iraq war and a newly re-enlisted soldier in the Army, I don't see the middle ground.

If this doesn't apply to you, you know who you are. So don't respond.
