I see the change in people after they go, but why do they choose to go in the first place?

For the spiritual experience.

My husband went on the Walk to Emmaus 12 years ago, and I went two weeks later.

We knew we were missing a depth in our lives, even tho we had 'gone to church' all of our lives.

It lights up your heart and brings God, Jesus, and the dear Holy Spirit into a closeness and a reality unknown before. I recommend it to any human being on this earth. Just thinking about it makes me smile. Your heart melts more and more every hour, for 3 days. What a thrill. :)

I am still just as close to God 12 years later. That is really saying a lot, because to be honest my life has been riddled with every kind of problem you could think of. But I am warm in my heart. :)

When ya know you don't have a real closeness with God, and you are just going through the motions....go on the Walk to Emmaus!!! You won't believe what you have been missing! :)

Peace to you and yours,
nancy
