Nicole Richie is a unique mix of African American, Hispanic, and Caucasian, but she considers herself black. Her birth parents are Michael Escovedo, a member of Lionel Richie's band and brother to '80s pop percussionist Sheila E., and an anonymous backstage assistant. Her adopted parents are Lionel and Diana Richie. Fun fact: her godfather is Micheal Jackson.

Nicole Ritchie is white. All white which I will add too. Yes. Lionel is her father but hes her adoptive father.

She was adopted by Lionel Ritchie and his wife. She was the former drummer's ( I think drummer) daughter. The drummer was black and his girlfriend white. So she half black and half white.

Not 100% sure, but she definitely is at least part african-american, but don't tell her, I don't think she knows. As for the comment that she considers herself black, then why the plastic surgery, hair dye, and everything else to de-emphasize that part of her????

i dont know - shes got the eyes of a white person - but when she was a kind she lookes mixed
