One of the arguments for an intelligent designer is that our planet and all its wonders are too complex to have been created without direction. However, the first intelligent designer him/herself is quite complex and could not have been designed by anything or anyone (what with nothing existing before him/her). Doesn't this show something very complex COULD have come into existence without the aid of an intelligent designer?

What i mean is if youre a girl and youre even remotely attractive all you gotta do is leave your house in the morning and guys will que up to date you. But it dont work the other way around. If youre a guy(even a good looking guy)girls will never que up to date you. I know everybody gotta make an effort to find somebody taht it doesnt just happen but sometimes it seems its a little easier for girls. Is this the way the world is, one of those things you cant change and gotta accept?

Why do we focus on these and other trivial issues?

Why do we waste three weeks in the Senate debating a flag burning amendment to the Constitution?

Why do we care about gay marriage?

When there's a war in Iraq, our education system (excluding college) is failing compared to most other OECD (developed) countries, crime is increasing, poverty is increasing, North Korea has nukes, Iran is getting nukes, Hugo Chavez is trying to turn Latin America communist, Sudanese children are being murdered relentlessly, Somalia is becoming Talibanized, the Sub-Saharan AIDS epidemic, etc. why do we care about such trivial issues?

Is it not pathetic that the masses are so easily focused on these unimportant matters?

The politicians, it seems, simply exploit the masses by bringing up issues that don't really matter, but they know are easy to draw the attention of America. Then they fail to address real ones.

Is there any realistic way to fix this problem? I fail to see one; maybe you're smarter.

My bf broke up with me recently and left me stranded after being with him for almost 3 years. I was young and realized how psychologically "infantalized" i was under him even though i was socially and educationally sound. I was 19 then. Now, i've met a younger guy (but still 4 years older) and he is very Handsome. He looks just like this picture and his personality is sweet.

The only problem is my "ex" still calls me and in his voice he seems to indicate a kind of sticky attachment thats still left in him and i'm afraid it would reignite a messed up relationship. My question is, I'm afraid to date again and the new guy asked me (a week ago) if i was in a mood to travel with him to US Virgin Island. I like him but i'm also very afraid to fall into trap? Please help. Thanks.

i live in winston salem, north carolina. theres a fenced area in the backyard. Outside of the fence is a steep slope of just wild vegetation. but anyway will azaleas grow in this partially shaded area. They will be planted inside the fenced area.

Right now I am drinking green tea and one of those "soup at hands" deals.. the nurse told me to gargle SALT WATER so i did and it nearly made me THROW UP!!!!!! I am also on medicine of course, as well as taking tyleonal. I am drinking tons of water and unsweetened tea. does anyone have any other good ideas to rid this awful awful pain!????

I bought a new house in August. I live out of state from my sister and she's a real estate agent. She offered (and brought it up) that she could act as if she was referring me to an agent (even though I already had one) then get me back a portion of the closing costs. Well, that all worked, and my realtor actually gave her a cut of the money knowing that it would actually come back to us. Well, my sister hasn't returned any of my calls for a month and is obviously avoiding me and now I know that the check was cashed over a month ago. So I guess she decided to keep the money for herself. I would never expect her to do anything like that. What do you think I should do?

...But in this case I'm talking more about a normal freindship. THAT stuff can come later, I need friends first. But I've never been good at social situations, and now I find myself in NYC all by myself. This city is paradoxically lonely and desolate when you know no one. I actually grew up here, but this is the first time I've been an adult here. So does anyone have any ideas on how a shy dork like me can make friends in this city? I'm in Manhattan, so there's certainly no end to my options, but I can't seem to think of anything. I don't drink, so bars hold no appeal, and I've never danced in my life, so clubs are out (I've never set foot in one anyway, and at 26, I'm too old to start). I'm getting truly sick of wandering around by myself all the time, so any ideas would be helpful.

I have an old school loan, through the school, NOT federal loan, and we have not paid it. A lawyers office contacted me this week, to tell me if I don't pay the $3,000 by the end of this month, they will sue me and will garnish my wages. At this point, if I try to settle with the college, are they allowed to work with me, or no, since it is with a lawyer? Any suggestions? I don't have $3,000 to pay in a week, and I don't want to go to court. HELP, please!!!
