Well, compared to previous civilizations, its far better. Much lower mortality rate. Greater freedoms for more people. Higher standard of living for a larger number. It's by no means perfect, but the best so far.
I give it a 5, with room to get much better.

I'll give it a 7.5 for having come so far from such humble beginings, and for showing such promise, But it still has a long way to go before it is gonna be able to rate any higher.
Am I happy with it? Well, I look at it this way. You are only able to change so much in your world. Do what you can do, but don't forget that you only have one life to live, and you can easily waste huge portions of it worrying about crap that you couldn't change if you had ten lifetimes to do it in. What I'm sayin is, once you've done what you reasonably can do, it's in your best interest to find a way to be happy with it, or at least accept it is the way it is.
It's what we've got, so...

6. I was pretty happy till the resurgence in religion in the past couple of decades. Nothing stops progress like a good fundamentalist.
