On a weekend outing, Antoine rents a motorboat for 8hr to travel down the river and back. The rental operator tells him to go for 3hr downstream, leaving him 5hr to return upstream.
a)If the river current flows at a speed of 6mph, how fast must Antoine travel in order to return in 8hr.
b)How far downstream did Antoine travel before he turned back?

I am helping prepare for the UPF World Peace Tour when it comes to Melbourne on Thursday, 28th.
For the Islamic and Bahaii followers that want to fast and pray for Ramadan, are there any special things I can help with?
We have tea and coffee, but they will not be served in the main room where the Ramadan observers will be.
We also have a separate room prepared for prayer.
One meeting is from 2pm to 4pm in Werribee.
Another is from 5:45 pm to 7:30pm in The Arts Centre, Melbourne.

I had a vertical hood piercing a few years ago, and now I have plans to re-pierce the area, this time in a horizontal. The first time I had it done the piercing was quite painful-- an intense, if momentary, stabbing sensation which one might expect to accompany a needle going through one's most sensitive of areas. Much to my embarrassment, I screamed in agony when the needle went through. I was thinking this second time I should numb the pain with a topical anesthetic, but when I went to the piercer she became annoyed and insisted that no reputable piercer would use topical because it's "unethical". The reason she gave was the cream is in a jar and therefore not sterile. But I don't understand, don't they sterilize the area anyway right before the piercing? It's not like that whole area is sterile to begin with.
Also, assuming sterility is not an issue, are there other reasons not to use the topical (NOT local) anesthetic (other than "it takes away from the experience")? Is it ineffective? Is it in any way dangerous? Will it make me hurt worse after the anesthetic wears off?
Finally, would you have any product recommendations? From an internet search it appears there are ones that make you go numb and others that work by cooling.

We have President Clinton blaming the republicans. Then Rice blames Clinton and the democrats. Now, Hillary Clinton is re-blaming Bush and the republicans. I personally do not care who is to blame for what happened because we cannot change that now. But, if the Republicans and Democrats could stop bickering over who is at fault, perhaps we could concentrate on how to prevent it from happening again.

I found this glass jar full of water. It had two tubes comming out of it! One of the tubes had an indented tip with some smoking, burnt stuff in it. A long skinny black man with dread locks told me to "tayyyke a toke mon!". I wasn't sure what that meant so I imitated what he was doing and inhaled from the tube. Now i'm hungry, my eyes are red, everythings funny and I'm REALLY good at video games. What's happening to me???

ok im supposed to write a rough draft for my essay and the draft is due tomorrow. The suject we are supposed to write about is "the perfect day" and the purpose is descrptive. for those who dont know what that is, its an essay that describes something or an experience. it includes all the senses, like describing the smell, look, touch, sound, etc about the topic. and for my essay i dont want to just blabber on about a perfect day with everytihing my way cuz its unrealistic, unorininal, and that day will never happen. i often like to think outside the box but im totally blank. So do you have any ideas? .

Sometimes I don’t know what to think Im so overwhelmed with emotions. How does he feel how do I really feel. Why is he here? Sometimes I feel like we can over come any obstacle some days I feel like just giving up. So here’s the 411. Together for 6 years and counting. He says I make him miserable but he loves me too much to leave me. I say you may be there for me emotionally but your not there for me financially. And a mortgage and 2 car payments are too much to handle for just one person. He’s going to school and working part-time. I know I have been hard on him but he said ok you need to start treating me like I’m your world or else I’m gone. We have a 3 year old together, infidelity has never been an issue / so does everybody go through this is so hard… Someone please help…. I do love and don’t picture myself with anyone else but Im to prideful to give my all what should I do ???

I've got a nice trade offered to me but I have to give up either Burress or Chambers. This is a keeper/dynasty league. I like Chambers better as a WR but I think Eli/Burress have the better upside tandom versus Culpepper/Chambers. Thoughts?

My co-workers have told me that there's this divorced woman (early 40's, but looks YOUNGER), at the office, who seems to find me attractive. This statement has also been claimed by the woman's closest female friend.

The problem is: She's OLDER than I am, but looks good.

However, when I see her, she acts like she there's nothing going on and greets me as if she HAD to. Her closest female friend, though, ALWAYS teases her while I am nearby.

I am very curious whether this all is true or not or whether this could be part of just a joke. How can I find out?
