Fundamental to the mechanism of evolution is the concept of "evolutionary fitness" which when translated into English means how well will it survive to breeding age & max out its potential for producing offspring that survive themselves to breeding age etc.
etc. ?
There are other aspects to how evolution works but this is the central mechanism. So, the more surviving progeny, the more genes are passed on. The fewer surviving progeny, the less genes. It is a "self-adjusting" system - ruthless & indifferent to individuals, but relentless in improving the "fitness" of a species to survive (to breeding age & to reproduce).

The answer about DNA effecting evolution is correct if not somewhat abbreviated. The environment that the propagators are subject too, cold, light dark, heat, lack of types of food and the amount of radiation (sun and natural) all help to dictate what changes to the DNA need to take place in order to insure the survivability of the species. So the answer suggesting that reproduction and evolution are independent of the other is not entirely true. They are separate, but hopelessly linked to one another so that after eons of time what is left is best suited to that particular invironment.

Ah ha! The question: How is reproduction related to evolution?
Is related to the question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg? in exactly the same way as reproduction is related to evolution!
;-D Sex is the most powerful force in life.

Reproduction is the technique used to propagate species(whether sexual or asexual). Evolution is the change in DNA over a long period of time.

reproduction is creating new offspring(children whatever you want to call it if you dont know what offspring means...).....evolution is the change in characteristics and DNA of a species over time....evolution will cease to exist if the species is not reproducing, or making anymore of its kind b/c if evolution is the change of species over time.... and if no more of that species exist....then how could evolution even be taking place.................to sum it up you need to reproduce to evolve.

Try thinking of it this way. We are born with certain characteristics -- we expect to be born with two eyes, two ears, bones, muscles, etc.
Now what if we do not use our muscles? They go away, right? And what if our children, grand children, etc. do not use their muscles for hundreds and thousands of years -- eventually, our bodies would supposedly be born without those muscles we do not use.
Those fish that live in the dark waters -- they do not have eyes because there is no light for them to use their eyes if they had them. Our environment also affects evolution but the process of change is very, very slow and not remarkable in our lifetime -- at least not that I am aware of.

Evolution doesn't happen if the species doesn't continue to reproduce.
