ok im supposed to write a rough draft for my essay and the draft is due tomorrow. The suject we are supposed to write about is "the perfect day" and the purpose is descrptive. for those who dont know what that is, its an essay that describes something or an experience. it includes all the senses, like describing the smell, look, touch, sound, etc about the topic. and for my essay i dont want to just blabber on about a perfect day with everytihing my way cuz its unrealistic, unorininal, and that day will never happen. i often like to think outside the box but im totally blank. So do you have any ideas? .

Might not be what you are looking for, but this is my perfect day, everyday :-)

Everyday is a perfect day, better than the one yesterday; for I choose it to be so.

My alarm is set at 7.17am, sometimes 7.01am; not the usual 7.00 or 7.30am most people would. I want to be different. I choose to be different. The ring tone on the mobile (alarm mode) is of a soft, sweet melody that I liked. What a way to wake up, listening to your favourite tune first thing in the morning. It rings in your head and I caught myself many times during the day, humming along to the tune in my head.

The daily toilet routine is never routine. I hate habits to take over my life. I control my life. I choose to perform the tasks (shaving, brushing of teeth, shower etc) in the order I prefer. It is different everyday. I'm a new me everyday. It's a new day afterall!

At work, I put in 110% into it. I enjoyed what I am doing, no matter how trivial the task is. Work can be enjoyed. I enjoyed, so I'm not working.

I look out for positive things throughout the day. It is so typical of us to reflect on the negative ones and get ourselves all worked up, and thus affecting our moods and day. Look hard enough and there's so much around us that are positive and can make us feel better. A smile from a co-worker, a compliment extended for a job well done and being appreciated, an advice given when asked, a good lunch break etc. They are all there for us to be thankful for. Many people do not see them, many people are not so unfortunate!

Sorry ... time's running out ... gotta go ... the list could goes on! Cheers! Have a great day.

When thinking of the perfect time of year, start with the weather.
Then describe every aspect of a day like that. For example, let's say you prefer rainy days. You may describe the sounds of crickets in the air. The tap tap tapping of noise on the roof that lulls your thoughts into a peaceful state. Just take it from their. Hey perhaps after writing this essay it will be good enough to publish. Iuniverse publishes short stories from everyday people check them out. You can find their link on http://www.welfare2wealth.com

Sounds like they want your idea of 'the perfect day' from your point of view...Would it be a day spent in your favorite place with a good friend or that special someone? Or a day in an exotic location learning a new culture? Or even THE day when you become Mrs. so and so :) Use your imagination..either way it can only come from you..so what if it's unrealistic..anything from your own imagination will always be original cuz it's yours alone..good luck :)

The perfect day is the day you failed your essay because you waited to do it in a timely manner. This will also not help you with other projects during the rest of your life. Better buckle down now and learn some discipline or you will forever be in last place in the scheme of things.

Maybe you could write about something you did with someone close to you, an important event, or about someone you were once close to that you know longer see or have in your life. You could express how the day began, include key points of the day and explain why or what made this day so important to you. Just keep in mind that your perfect day doesn't have to be what another person would consider their important day. We all interpret importance differently. And just keep in mind it's a perfect day to YOU. Write from your heart....Good luck!!

You may not have time for it, but look for a book called "This Perfect Day." I believe the author was Ira Levine. It made the significant point that what seems to be "perfect" is necessarily going to be boring, stifling, lacking in creativity or imagination, and actually horrible, in the end.

Like Procrustes, in Greek mythology, who was able to make everyone fit. If you were shorter than his iron bed, he would stretch you to fit. If you were too tall to sleep in his iron bed, he would lop off a portion so you fit.

The perfect day is waking up to the smell of toast and bacon the smell draws you and pulls you waking up all your senses "its time to eat" then coming back and your cloth our neatly pressed and ready to just slip on....driving to wherever and your favorite song comes on the radio their is no one only you on the road your driving, your so lost in the song and mind you stop take a look around you and notice all those ants going here and their you think to yourself why do i do this everyday.....

I just came up with this real fast but if you can get a perfect day essay out of this. its sort of a satire and real life kind of thing just work with it or finish it with your own words.

I had to write a similar essay in English 101 several years ago, I used the birth of my son and described that expereince. My best advice would be to think of a special event in your own life and use that.

Since your instructor is after description, forget the perfect day part and try first describing your office and you in your office. The tap of your fingers on the keyboard, the perfect silence, the warmth of the desk lamp on your hands, the smell of the coffee on your desk. Then pick up your coffee and sip it and revel in the taste of it, the warmth of the cup in your hands and how at peace you feel.

Oh, wait. That's my office and me. Sorry. I got carried away.
Hmmmm. The warmth of the lamp light does feel good on the back of my hand. I need some coffee.

Well, you could try writing it in story form if its accepted (ive done that before, and you can describe stuff way easier) Um, also, try putting in the "little things" that make a day great (dew, rain, brilliant flowers, the smell of old books... stuff like that.) You could go big, or you could go small and detailed
