how can i find out what color to buy in makeup?

Go to one of the makeup counters in the mall and let them match it with your skin, let them do a makeover(free of cost) that way the products that they use if you like it, you can purchase those.

it depends on your skin tone and eye color,,,as well as what season it is and what hair color you have,,but i wouldnt just trust someone at a makeup store to do your makeup,,,find what colors you like and experiment, asking someone who works at a makeup store doesnt necissarily mean you are gonna get the look you want,,id buy some different colors and play with them to see what you like to use,,even makeup between brands can be different so id say go out and have fun experimenting

Find a Sephora in your area and then go there to get a make-over or you could go there and just ask them(the experts) what they think would look good and then they can reccamend so many different products instead of just going to a MAC counter where all they want you to buy is MAC... You can match it to your skin as closely as possible by applying a small amount to the undetside of your wrist. Blend it in a little. This will help you to see if the color blends well. Always keep in mind that make-up (especially foundation) always dries slightly darker on your skin. If it is a little too dark, you can use a translucent powder to tone it down.
