Truth can lie through half-truths: What is a half-truth ?

The question seems easy, a half-truth is half true, suggesting that other part is a lie. Well that is part of the answer, you see there are several other types of half-truths.

The other more deceptive form of half-truth is a statement that is not the whole truth, suggesting the truth in quesiton is true.

Here is an example:

At a war memorial on a Christian Church there was a quote from the Bible, the Gospel according to John.

"No greater love hath any man than to lay down their life for their fellow man"

That statement seems to rationalize dying as a soldier for your country.

Except that statement from taken from Verse that ends with another sentence, "love oneanother'.

So it obvious that this statment is taken out of the paragraph, out of context to deceive us; the work of hte devil ?

Just curious - since we are all officially anonymous online - how much do you weigh? How tall are you? How old are you? How much would you like to weigh? Are you happy with your weight/size?

I weigh 126 pounds. I'm 5' 5". I'm 23. I think I'd be happiest at 120, so I guess I'm mostly happy but not quite.

I'm really disappointed that Ms. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice does not want to run for president. However, I think she's way ahead of me, and she probably figures that America isn't ready for a black woman president. I mean...we haven't had a black president, yet. We haven't had a woman president, yet. If Ms. Rice, a black woman, becomes president then we would be skipping a few steps ahead of ourselves. To me and a lot of people that's a great great thing. But how does "most" American feel? What do you think?

My boyrfriend and I have had sex a about 4-5 times but I don`t think sex is that "good" as people portray it to be and I think it`s because we haven`t done it "right". When we use condom as our protection I get a burning sensation. Is it possible to be allergic to that type of condom? I tried different types like lifestyles, trojan, etc. but it`s the same. is a flat bed truck driver for a living so there is strenuous activity often, nothing in particular occurred, but severe shoulder and side pain along with coughing up blood. was taken to e.r. overnite (before the blood in his cough started) are they related and how serious is the issue? had been coughing and having pain for 4 days before the blood (which is now happening with every strong cough) is perscribed pain meds and muscle relaxers..... is 35 years old.

I'm a 17 year old girl and I don't have horrible skin, but I do have trouble spots here and there. I've heard all about Proactiv and Clean and Clear, etc. However, I've tried various drug-store acne medicines, but I have yet to find something that works for me. Let me start by saying that I love and adore my wife. But our physical relationship has become routine (same room of the house, same position, same time of day, couple of times a week). What's more, she almost never initiates sex with me anymore. How can I suggest to her that I would like a little more adventure, variety, and spice in our sex life without hurting her feelings?
